WHAT DOES "RESIDENT' MEAN?
Resident means you live within the Wheeling Park District boundaries. In addition, all children enrolled as students in School Districts 21 and 23 are granted resident rates on qualifying non-contractual youth programs.
If you have never used our registration system and want to qualify for resident fees, please stop by the Guest Service Desk at the CRC and show proof of residency status. Valid drivers license, utility bill, copy of lease or mortgage agreement are acceptable forms of proof.
Non-resident guests are always welcome to take part in programs and activities.

PERFORMING ARTS
DANCE/CHEER
CHEERLEADING
Students will learn 3-4 new cheers weekly, work on form, flexibility, and jumps as well as add on to their poms dance routine. Cheerleaders will get a chance to perform at one Park District event as well as a parent watch performance on the last day of class. No class 11/24.

BOLLYWOOD YOUTH DANCE
Taught by the instructors from Rhythm & Grace Studios, this class will be a combination of Bollywood, Indian folk, hip-hop, contemporary and expression filled with fun moves inspired from the world of Bollywood. Whether the child is a beginner or an advanced dancer, group classes give the kids the opportunity to learn a variety of dances in a fun, low-pressure atmosphere. No class 11/25.

HIP HOP
Under the direction of Chicago Loves Dance, students learn choreography to the newest pop/dance songs and show off creativity in freestyle sessions. No class 11/26.

BALLET
Under the creative direction of Chicago Loves Dance instructors, students learn the basic positions for ballet and have fun dancing and singing along in this beginner-level class. No class 11/26 & 11/29.

ZUMBA
Come join this kid-friendly dance party. Original Zumba choreography adapted for a younger student will make getting exercise fun!

YOUNG REMBRANDTS
CARTOON DRAWING CLASS
For all kids who need to stay engaged and laughing, our cartooning classes are surely the most fun you can have while learning! This entertaining program combines Young Rembrandts’ innovative, hands-on teaching method with light-hearted subject matter that engages children, their sense of humor and their vivid imaginations.

ELEMENTARY DRAWING CLASS
Do you have a little artist at home turning every corner into their personal gallery? It’s time for their creativity to meet the vibrant world of Young Rembrandts! Watch in awe as their pencils whirl across the paper, drawing everything from yummy taffy apples to charming seasonal scarecrows, and bunnies full of sass. We’re even sprinkling a bit of Van Gogh magic with some vibrant sunflower sketches. Embark on an artistic adventure filled with colors and imagination they’ll absolutely adore. Enroll today and watch their artistic flair flourish! No class 11/25.

PASTEL DRAWING WORKSHOP- OCEAN LIFE
Fun-filled days await our students as we explore ocean life and as they learn to draw and color with pastels. We will create detailed, pastel compositions each day, focusing on a different ocean-themed subject. We will draw eye catching sea stars along the shoreline and a pair of vibrant clown fish. We will illustrate a sea turtle with bold patterns, a blue crab, and a wondrous scene of jellyfish. Our instruction will bring remarkable results, and you will want to head to the frame shop with your child’s finished pastel pieces. These pastel drawings will reward students with a great sense of pride and accomplishment. Please wear an old shirt or smock to class each day.

YOUNG REMBRANDTS
PASTEL DRAWING WORKSHOP - A WORLD TOUR
Explore multicultural art in our Worldly Artistic Designs workshop. We begin our world tour in Mexico as we draw several welcoming, colorful doorways. Next, we journey to Africa and explore the design intricacies of African crafts. Our artistic enlightenment doesn’t stop there; we’ll move on to design Paisley patterns, an ancient design embraced by many cultures. Then, Asian paper lanterns will shed light on the Far Eastern design styles. Our travels end in Russia as we illustrate a mainstay of Russian architecture – the onion dome. These classes will be messy fun, so dress appropriately. No class 11/27.

CULTURAL
A LITTLE ME TIME (CULTURAL EXPLORATION)
A Little Me Time (ALMT) is an engaging, hands-on program that celebrates world cultures through cooking, art, geography and connections. Each session highlights a new country, inviting kids to explore global traditions, express creativity, and grow as thoughtful global citizens. No class 11/27.

CREEPY COOKIES & PUMPKIN DECORATING
Calling all little ghouls and goblins! Join us for a frightfully fun afternoon of creepy cookie decorating and mini pumpkin madness. Kids will get hands-on as they craft deliciously spooky treats and transform ordinary pumpkins into haunted masterpieces.

FAMILY GINGERBREAD HOUSE
Each family will receive one gingerbread house, frosting, and candy for decorating. Each child will receive a gingerbread craft activity.
