DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
Dear Tagish people !
How are you doing? Here at the hall, we are doing awesome and have more new stuff for you this month!
My principle of operation is to rejoin all of you with different activities and events, with new collaborations with other associations, etc. In November we will have active, social, educational, cultural and entertainment activities.
The Centre will host for the fist time a dog powered sports racing event on the November 19th at 1pm. Be aware that you might meet happy dogs on harnesses with their human on trails around that day. The trails that we will use will be marked. We are inviting all of you to come over and encourage the teams. Chili and buns will be served at 12pm, everyone is welcome.
Mark your calendar that you must come shopping at the Tagish Centre November 12th. The 3 Community Centres of the Southern Lakes are working together on that event. The Tagish Centre will serve Tacos & Enchiladas, the bar will be open from 12 4. We already have many tables booked; we still have some available. Email us!
Please note that I must be out of the office from November 22nd to November 29th. So, for that week most of the regular activities will happen but nobody will be there on a regular basis and the hall might be closed some days. Please have a look on our Calendar for more details.
It is awesome to see you at the hall and we hope to see more new people coming
Nathalie
Book Reading at Tagish Rec Centre
November 20, 2022
Join Kay Deborah Linley as she reads from her recently released book Paddling Back to Us:
A Journey into Wildness on Connected Waterways
In 2018, while experiencing catatonic burn out, Kay received a call from her adventurous spirit to undertake a 1000 kilometre kayaking journey from the O’Donnell River south of Atlin, BC to Dawson City, Yukon. With little more than a spark in her heart and the support of her partner Jeremy, she set off into the vast wilderness. Join alongside her kayak, as Kay reads excerpts from her story and shares her unique illustrations re counting the connections she experienced on the way.
Kay’s story captures the individual and universal realities of break downs and the miracles of break throughs as proof that we can all learn to cultivate the courage to accept and respond to the calls of our lives. Offering a bridge between grounded narrative and the mystical unknown, Kay’s work invites you to connect with the wild spirits of the natural world so that
