At the Canada Day celebration an award was presented to the Brewery Bay Marina Association (BBMA) by the community of Atlin.

This “Outstanding Improvements” award was for improvements made to the Atlin waterfront by the association. This recognition is greatly appreciated.

The expansion and repairs to the public boat ramp at the foot of Rant street have now been completed at a cost to the BBMA of over $10,000.00. We have received a few donations from community minded individuals but will still have to raise money to pay for this venture. Any help would be appreciated.

All of the boat docks in the Brewery Bay Marina have been replaced. The framing material for the docks was purchased locally and construction was done voluntarily by the ‘Over the Hill Gang’, spearheaded by Pat Thompson and Bob Wagner.

The BBMA was responsible for two other worthwhile projects. George Holman was responsible for the building of a sandy beach adjacent to the marina picnic area. Another project was the construction of the first permanent public toilet facility in Atlin. It is situated at the marina picnic area next to McBride Boulevard.

We would like to express our indebtness to the Atlin RCMP Corporal Swetnam, Constable MacDonald, RCMP office staff Dani McNeil, nurse Leanne Wahlstrom and paramedic Scott Cole for their impressive response to our medical emergency while on our kayak trip on Atlin Lake earlier this month.

From the initial in-reach SOS, they wasted no time, and were on site at the bottom of the lake in record time.

Their rapid reaction to the call, their professionalism and their effective actions helped prevent a tragic ending to a serious situation.

There are no words to express our gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
