A warm welcome to Seddon Fields for our special Premier National League double header.
We welcome our visitors from near and far this weekend. Scotty and the boys take on Birkenhead United who make the short jump over the bridge. Always an exciting game with plenty of fire and drama. The Northern League saw both games go the way of the home team but it was the Chatham Cup game that took the breath away. Birkenhead came out on top after a 17 penalty shootout. Another classic awaits.
Our Premier Women take on Southern United, who have a little more travel to get to Seddon all the way from Dunedin. Maia’s team will be fired up after a dramatic game last weekend against West Coast Rangers. We fought back from 2-0 down and then WCR thought they had won it in injury time. The team dug deep, didn’t blink and Amanda Everett grabbed an equaliser as the clock ran out. Sensational stuff.
Our Girls kick the day off by taking on Southern United in the Youth National League at 12pm. Roodie’s team got their first win of the campaign at Melville United last weekend.
As did our Boys, an impressive 5-2 win over Hamilton Wanderers, they head down to take on FC Tauranga Moana.
Many thanks of course to our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide a great club environment throughout the season and for their continued efforts in the months ahead.
Ongoing gratitude also to our life members who are the history and foundation of the Club we are today. To our 2024 sponsors, we thank you for your support and we look forward to working together as we move into the exciting National League phase.
