new outdoor group for West Coast women has started. The West Coast Women's Wilderness Club is the postlockdown idea of club co-ordinator
Georgia Wilkinson. Ms Wilkinson was on a solo tramp on the Paparoa Track in May when the idea of inviting other women to join her came to her. "I just wanted women to start exploring their own backyard," she said.

"Being connected to the outdoors changes your perspective. We have kind of lost that. It is very good for mental health. This club is about encouraging and empowering women to get out and explore." Ms Wilkinson is originally from
