Coast in festive mode

G

reymouth's three-day Christmas Carnival got under way last Friday, and ramped up on Saturday when hundreds of people lined the CBD streets for the Christmas Parade. Giant inflatables were set up on the vacant Revington's Hotel site, where children could leap, bounce, and even drive bumper boats. The parade itself finished just before the rain arrived, and children headed away laden with lollies. On Sunday, Mackay Street was closed for a popular market day, while live entertainment kept things lively in the Town Square. This Friday the fun moves to Hokitika for an evening parade, starting at 6.30pm. More photos, p3. PICTURE: Laura Mills
