he third Wheels on the Coast event in Westport’s Victoria Square recently saw about 30 hot rods and anything with wheels turn out for a colourful display. Buller Rodders secretary Michelle Rodley said the rally was slightly smaller than the
previous years but they were very pleased to see a wider variety of different vehicles on display. “That was quite cool,” she said. The purpose of the Wheels on the Coast was purely as a get together to celebrate a love of cars. “The vehicles parked up and the owners hung out for the day,” she said.

Most of the cars were locally owned with many of the rest coming from Greymouth. Feedback from the Greymouth visitors had been very positive. There was also good spectator turnout and the community support had been appreciated. Mrs Rodley said the Buller Rodders had about 15 members and new members or
anyone interested were welcome. The club meets on the first Saturday of each month at 4pm at Club Buller. Anyone interested is welcome to attend or to contact the club via its Facebook page. Every few months, club members go for a drive with a morning tea or lunch stop included.
