About Weleda Weleda exists to create 100% natural products and we have been doing so since 1921. During this time we have never used synthetic ingredients, non-natural preservatives, artificial fragrances and colourants in our products nor have we ever tested our products on animals.

Developed by Pharmacists and Midwives Christina Hinderlich is a midwife, qualified nursing professional and a mother of three.

The birth is the first major event in the life of your child. After being safely cocooned in the mother’s body, it is finally time to meet the outside world.

The baby’s skin now has a very important task in perceiving a whole range of new sensations and helping the baby discover and understand the world. This is why delicate skin needs special care in the form of a nurturing, protective layer that does not impede its sensitive ability to perceive the world around it.

We want your baby to feel good in its skin, right from the start. That’s why the quality of our products is of the utmost importance to us. After your baby is born, its sensitive skin only slowly begins to build up its protecting and regulating functions, which is why it requires special care that gently cleanses and intensively moisturises.

We use only natural ingredients such as rich plant oils in our Calendula Baby Care range, teamed with all the benefits of highly nourishing plant extracts. We developed these very mild products in partnership with a team of midwives especially for the daily care of baby’s delicate skin. Certified natural skincare from Weleda does not contain any mineral oil-based ingredients, and contains no synthetic perfumes, colourings or preserva­tives that could affect the skin’s natural functions.

Organic camomile soothes the skin and prevents skin irritations.

Almond oil, which is suitable for use on sensitive skin, is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Sesame oil contains lots of moisturising polyunsaturated fatty acids as well as vitamin E. Beeswax, a well-tolerated natural substance, protects the skin without affecting its natural functions.

Lanolin protects the skin without affecting its ability to breathe. It is very well tolerated due to its similarity to the natural oils produced by human skin.

Babies react positively to the touch. It is by touching things that they become acquainted with their environment. A gentle massage helps babies become familiar with their bodies and to feel at ease with them. When a baby is born, the skin is protected with its own natural oils and it is important not to strip these from the skin when cleansing. Gently bathing with plain water is recommended for babies skin in the first month. Soothing bath products free from detergents are then advisable for bath time.

Stretch Mark Massage Oil. Our 100% natural, Stretch Mark Massage Oil is ideal for soothing skin as it stretches. Using the oil for massage will help keep the connective tissues elastic – our best defence against stretch marks. Regular use visibly helps to correct the appearance of stretch marks on your pregnant belly, your thighs, bottom and breasts, and helps prevent new ones. Dermatologically tested.

Pregnancy and the weeks following childbirth are a time of great change, and the skin is subject to major changes, too. It becomes more sensitive and therefore requires complementary care.

Baby Tummy Oil. A pure, natural formula for baby’s tummy massage. This comforting oil, formulated with gentle almond oil and delicate natural essential oils complement the massage process, which soothes and relaxes your little one. Gently massage the oil clockwise around baby’s navel in ever-larger circles. End the circular motion by moving down over the left thigh. In this way you aid bowel movement where painful wind can become trapped. Whilst massaging, apply gentle pressure to the tummy with your hand. Dermatologically tested.
