BETTING EXPLAINED
Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number
Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

LIZZIE REY escapes a penalty for last week’s Southwell success and will take a bit of stopping if the cheekpieces continue to have a positive effect. Seasmoke could be a threat if her stamina holds over this significantly longer trip Honey Jack is another likely to have a say if the addition of a tongue tie helps him to recapture the form he showed when successful at Taunton in November

Just the five go to post, headed by the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Chief Sunday, who carries 12-1 due to him being rated 116. Holeshot is one to take seriously.
Holeshot arrives here on the back of a Taunton win, which came on good-to-soft ground over 2m3f. Again, thatformhassincebeenfranked(third won next time) and Tim Vaughan’s six-year-old races off a 10lbs higher mark. His earlier form came over the minimum trip – including a second behindtheSorceleuratWincanton–so coming back in distance shouldn’t be aninconvenience.
Interestingly, allfiverunnersarenovices and quite lightly-raced, including the mare What’sOneMore, whohailsfrom the in-form stable of Emma Lavelle. She made her racecourse debut in a bumper at this track in November 2023 before winning a Huntingdon bumper onherthirdstart,butis0-4overhurdles. EACH-WAY BETTING TERMS
Working alongside the Racecourse Association (RCA), bookmakers have introduced standard each-way betting terms across Jockey Club Racecourses. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.
Fewer than 3 runners: win bets only, no places offered
3 or 4 runners: all to win Where a bookmaker wishes to depart from this default position he may offer place terms for 3 or 4 runners, this must be at 1/5 odds a place 1-2
5 to 7 runners (inclusive): 1/4 (one quarter) odds for finishing 1st or 2nd
