RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials are here to ensure that the racecourse delivers those standards. In addition Kempton Park Racecourse employs two veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout theirtime at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualiﬁed paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment.This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.

ADMISSION & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

No refunds will be given for badges or tickets that are purchased and not required or used other than if racing is abandoned. Kempton Park may abandon racing: Where so directed by the Jockey Club, the police or emergency services or their respective servants or agents; or in any emergency or other exceptional circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Kempton Park. In the event of racing being abandoned, refunds on badges or tickets will only be paid in the following circumstances:

• Abandonment before completion of the ﬁrst race – FULL REFUND

• Abandonment before the completion of the third or feature race, whichever is later –50% REFUND REFUNDS CANNOT BE MADE ON RACEDAYS

To obtain a refund:

• If you purchased your tickets/badges/ car park labels in advance via the ticket hotline, internet, post, or at the Racecourse then you will receive an automatic refund to the card by which you paid or by cheque if original payment was by cheque or cash.

BEHAVIOUR & DRESS CODE

The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to all enclosures or eject any person from the racecourse. If refused or ejected from the racecourse patrons will not be entitled to a refund. When leaving the Racecourse please be considerate of our neighbours. Racegoers must abide by any regulations, including the observance of designated no-drinking areas and dress code. The dress code is casual in all areas, however, ripped denim, sports shorts and football shirts are not permitted.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION

Kempton Park Racecourse has signiﬁcantly enhanced Safety and Security measures this year to enhance your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the day. However, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency As part of our safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced stewards and you will see them at various points throughout the racecourse. In the event of a situation, which requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area. Should it be necessary to evacuate the course itself, there will be two main options; ﬁrstly to return to your vehicles if safe to do so and leave via the main entrance. Secondly should it not be safe to return to your vehicles, you will be requested to leave via an emergency evacuation gate, to the main assembly points; the North Entrance, the South Entrance or the Holly Tree Gate If these areas are compromised the evacuation will be directed to the centre of the course, where you will receive further instruction.

It may give you peace of mind if you pre plan and agree a meeting place, just in case you become separated from your party
