Race Description
This is a two miles and seven furlongs novices’ handicap steeple chase for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 0 to 120. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have won a race, been placed twice or raced at least three times in order for the handicapper to gauge the level of form shown. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap. In simple terms, a horse rated 120 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 115. Br Breeding

TIMEFORM VIEW Shaped well at Ludlow in May but failed to back it up next time, underlining that he’s not one to rely on. Back from 175 days off, and others make more appeal. TFRHHIII BHA120

TIMEFORMVIEW Five-time winner over hurdles and, though he has a rather uninspiring record as a chaser, he’s on an appealing mark now and his latest effort contained more encouragement. TFRHHHII BHA117

TIMEFORM VIEW Bumper winner for Olly Murphy. Fair form over hurdles for this stable (good third in handicap at Worcester last time), and likely to be well schooled ahead of this chasing debut. TFRHHHHH BHA115

TIMEFORM VIEW Hit and miss profile overall but he has been holding his form of late and gained reward with victory at this course a fortnight ago. Up 4lb and chance can’t be ignored in a weak race. PLAY SMARTER
This might not take much winning and it would be no surprise were ROQUE IT to make a better chaser than hurdler, so he gets the narrow vote ahead of recent winner Catch The Cuban, who is hard to place maximum faith in due to temperament issues. Caspers Court is also worth considering.
