Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse. It’s hard to believe we are already at the half way point of our season but we still have plenty to look forward to, starting with Ladies’ Day tomorrow. We have great prizes on offer from Grantley Hall for the Best Dressed Lady and from Jenny Roberts Millinery for the Best Hat competition and we have music on the bandstand from a great Ed Sheeran tribute. We have a good card with seven races this evening and our feature race is the Wells Memorial Challenge Trophy at 7.40, run in memory of all members of the Wells family who have contributed greatly to the racecourse since its inauguration. Their support is greatly appreciated. Our last meeting on 1st June last saw Team Tim Easterby extend their lead in the Goodbye Flys Stable Staff competition. Team Easterby are certainly in a commanding position and will surely prove tough to reel in but there’s another 102 points to play for this evening so every race counts with the £5000 first prize up for grabs, as well as £2000 to the second placed team and £1000 to the third.
