LAST MEETING REVIEW |WEDNESDAY 1ST JUNE 2022

1

Our meeting on Wednesday 1st June consisted of seven races.

The meeting started with the Ben Clarke-trained Little Jessture narrowly beating Lonimoss Bareliere by a head. The six-year-old was held up towards the rear before briefly leading when slightly hampered two out. She then led narrowly after the last and found just enough to fend off the danger from Dan Skelton’s gelding. Market favourite Kapitaliste failed to make an impression on proceedings, finishing just over six lengths behind the leader in third. It was a more comfortable victory in the second race of the day, where Clearance saw off the danger from Thahab Ifraj to win by two lengths. Michael Burke’s gelding was held up behind the leaders and was going best despite a mistake which nearly lost jockey Harry Reed. He soon managed to recover from that error and ran-on well to secure the honours in the St Austell Brewery Handicap Hurdle. Favurite Nelsons Rock justified his

market price with a comfortable two-and-a-quar4 ter length victory over Minella Voucher and Johnny B in a three runner handicap chase. Nelsons Rock put in a fine round of jumping and pressed the leader from the 16th before taking the lead when approaching the final two. Jockey Brendan Powell gave him a reminder when the gelding idled slightly approaching the last. Minella Voucher and Johnny B were no match for Joe Tizzard’s seven-year-old. Quid Pro Quo certainly justified his 1/5 starting price, winning by seven lengths
