BETFRED ROSE OF LANCASTER STAKES

MANYPUBSACROSSTHENORTHWEST.
This afternoon will combine thrilling action on the track with high fashion and elegance around the course as we host our annual Ladies Day and Style Awardswe couldn’t be more excited for everything that the afternoon holds. Things will get underway this afternoon at 2.25pm with today’s feature race, The Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes, taking place at 3pm. The £75,000 contest was first run in 1986 as the Summer Trophy but was given its current title when it was promoted from Listed to Group 3 status in 1989. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Betfred, who sponsor the whole card today. Their continued support is invaluable, and we wish them a fantastic day with us here
Of course the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes Day is also one of our favourite days of the year because it is Ladies Day and features our much-loved Style Awards This year’s awards are being held in partnership with The Buyers’ Club Clothing and House of Cavani and we can’t wait to see the racecourse awash with bright colours and amazing style. With incredible prizes on offer there is no reason not to get yourself involved – so head over to one of our Style Pods to make your entry!
Entertainment will be provided around the racecourse by The Fat Cats and The Haydock Band, both of whom will be providing the perfect soundtrack to your day out. After today we still have the biggest date of the Summer Season to come, when we host the Group One Betfair Sprint Cup on Saturday 9th September. Three days of thrilling action will begin on the 7th before culminating on the Saturday afternoon. The competition sees some of the best sprinters in training travelling to Merseyside for their shot at the big prize and we’re already really looking forward to it
For now, I’d like to wish you all a wonderful day here with us – we hope to see you again very soon.
Warm wishes,
THURSDAY 7th - SATURDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER
SPRINT CUP CELEBRATION
With an action-packed three days of racing on offer, there’s still plenty of excitement to look forward to and as always, a warm Haydock Park welcome.

Familiarise yourself with your entry point and the location of amenities within the racecourse.
We are operating a cashless event. On-course bookmakers/pool betting operators may accept cash
Enjoy the vast amounts of space around the racecourse and avoid congregating in busy areas (for example, along the rail or by the Winning Post).
Make sure all walkways, corridors and doorways etc are clear before you walk through.
Follow all signage and the instructions of staff, officials or any emergency service personnel present at the racecourse.
Make sure other members of your group have read and understood these guidelines.

KHINJANI bumped into a progressive one at Newbury last time and she is taken to deservedly open her account. She may have most to fear from Ala Kaifi, who went down fighting on his handicap bow at Newmarket and perhaps the addition ofblinkers will help eke out a little more. So Farhh So Good has a bit to find with the selection on Newbury form and will probably have to settle for minor honours once again.

BREEGE has run tremendous races to finish second in the Sandringham Handicap and Oak Tree Stakes the last twice and has good claims on these terms if this doesn’t come too quickly after Goodwood. The unexposed Lose Yourself and Stenton Glider make it a strong hand for the 3-y-os, while Heredia looks the pick of the older horses.

All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team.
