Welcome back to Haydock Park for another brilliant afternoon of racing. From sprints to middle distance races, we’ve got something for everyone to enjoy today and I’d like to thank you for coming along as we bid a fond farewell to the flat
The first of today’s seven races will get underway at 1.50pm with the Join Racing TV Now Nursery Handicap Stakes, before the final race at 5.08pm brings the Flat Season Finale to a close.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported Haydock Park over the flat season and to give a special mention to today’s sponsors Accor and Weatherbys. We wish them and their guests a wonderful day with us I’d also like to thank Racing TV and the British EBF for their continued support.
This afternoon will also see the conclusion of the Haydock Park Flat season Leading Trainer and Jockey competition, kindly sponsored by Accor Hotels
Currently in the lead for the trainer’s competition is William Haggas with 12 wins. Tom Marquand and Jim Crowley are tied for the lead in the jockey’s competition on seven wins each We look forward to announcing the winners this afternoon and presenting them with their prizes courtesy of Accor Hotels.
After today, jumps racing is set to make its return, with all of our attentions turning to the Betfair Chase Day on November 19 Not only is this our first jumps fixture of the 2022/23 season, but it is also the first Grade One Chase of the campaign. We can’t wait and really hope to see you there!
Over the coming months there is so much more to look forward to with a further three jumps fixtures before the end of the year The iconic Tommy Whittle Chase Day on December 17 is an occasion which I am sure will be the perfect festive day out for the whole family. We hope you all have a great day here at Haydock Park and I look forward to seeing you back at the racecourse again very soon
wishes, Molly Dingwall General Manager

Look out for the charity Racing to School today; you shouldn’t miss them as they will be leading a group of local pupils and their teachers through every corner of the racecourse for an action-packed day of fun challenges and discovery. The charity works nationwide with over 250 schools, and this year will reach around 16,000 young people at UK racecourses, trainers’yards and studs.
They deliver free, outdoor activity days to support the learning and to boost the self-confidence of children aged nine and above. Racing to School uses racing venues as unique, fast-moving classrooms full of opportunities to practise and improve subjects like maths, literacy and problem-solving.
The charity is only able to support young people’s education through the kind donations it receives. Please scan this QR code to donate, if you can.

This looks very competitive indeed. GOLDEN BULLET and Rajwaan are both appealing now pitched into a nursery and marginal preference is for the former, who took a step forward when fourth over 6f here 3 weeks ago Lady Beano has been absent since struggling in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot but she’s in calmer waters now and needs considering. From 25 entries, only four were declared for the Weatherbys Stallion Book Fillies’ Novices Stakes, but it looks an interesting contest nonetheless. All four fillies are by outstanding stallions who are appropriately featured in the Weatherbys Stallion Book.
Ralph Beckett’s Diamond Vega ran really well on debut at Kempton a little over two weeks ago when she ran on late to take the runner-up spot. She’ll be expected to build on that performance. The daughter of Lope de Vega went through the ring for 120,000 gns at the Tattersalls Book One Sale last year her half-brother by Showcasing sold for 260,000 gns at Tattersalls earlier this week. She’s the second foal out of Listed placed Megan Lily, who is herself a half-sister to a Group winner and a Listed winner.
If ever there is a filly who deserves to get her nose in front it’s Tephi the daughter of Invincible Spirit has found one too good in each of her last three runs and only by a short-head, a head and a neck each time! The 150,000 gns yearling is a full-sister to the Group 1 winner and Champion 2yo, Shalaa (pictured below).
The well named Unrequited Love by No Nay Never and out of Passion Overflow is the mount of Hollie Doyle and showed up well on her only run to date. No doubt she will be expected to come on for that. The filly is a half-sister to four winners, including Listed winner, Bebhionn.
The Alice Haynes trained Gemini Star is the only unraced filly in the race She is by Starspangledbanner who has sired many top-level winners in 2022, including the recently retired globe-trotter State Of Rest. Her dam is a winning half-sister to promising young stallion Rajasinghe.

Having previously looked lazy, SKY BLUE PINK went through the race more smoothly when runner-up at Salisbury a fortnight ago and she’s likely to back that up with a bold showing returning to the scene of her last win (on this card 12 months ago). Last-time-out C&D winner Sterling Knight is a clear danger and Emperor Spirit should be thereabouts if he’s not pestered too much on the front end.

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey. If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
