In our more relaxed world, most of us get few opportunities to wear more formal clothing, whether that be a suit and tie for the men or a beautiful dress for the ladies, but today is when not only the gentlemen but also the ladies can put on their finery, come to the races and show the world how stylish and sophisticated they can be.
We have a fantastic evening of racing for you with eight races and the various handicaps look highly competitive, so good luck finding the winner of those. The two year old maidens at this time of year are always interesting contests, so come down to the paddock and make your selection from there.
As soon as the racing is over Chris Moyles will present a live DJ set from the front of the grandstand. Chris made his name, presenting the breakfast show on Radio 1 but has diversified into various other areas since those days, including charity fundraising, film voice work and television. He also now presents his own show on Radio X. He is renowned for his audience participation and his sharp sense of humour, so this will be a show not to be missed.
Have a lovely evening.

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
PALACE VIEW ran a fine race to finish third at Kempton on debut earlier this month, giving the impression that this extra furlong should be well within his grasp. The son of Dark Angel could prove hard to beat today with improvement likely Almutawakel was a beaten favourite at Epsom when last seen but is worth forgiving and could bounce back. Sir Mark Prescott won this race last year and relies on Blindedbythelights this time around.

A host in with chances but THE MAD MONK continues to edge down the weights and, with talented claimer Taylor Fisher taking a further 7lb off his back, he gets the tentative nod. Prophecy heads up the dangers back on a synthetic surface, while Porterinthejungle and Glencoe Boy are another couple fancied to be in the mix too.
