FORM RATINGS
6
7
Included in the form guide below each horse is a form rating, calculated from the horse’s previous performances, taking into account a number of variables such as finishing position, distance won/beaten by, horses beaten/beaten by weight carried, race time (compared with the standard time) going allowance number of days since that performance, etc.
Horses which have not raced will not have a form rating, as may some horses which have raced but not recently in Britain or their performances to-date have not yet merited a rating.

SALADAM was unable to justify favouritism when finishing second here last month, but the six-year-old still holds leading claims on that performance and looks the one to beat. Hold Up La Colmine has recorded a string of creditable efforts in defeat in similar contests and is feared most. Bellaney Lord appeared to be running a better race before unseating his rider late on at Down Royal last month and is another to consider.

With just the four runners heading to post and marginal preference is for the Sandy Thomsontrained BASS ROCK, who arrives in this having just been denied over an extended 2m3f at Wetherby in December. The Great British Bonus (GBB) offers multiple bonuses of up to £20,000 per eligible race for British-bred fillies and mares.
BENASSI was successful on his second start under Rules at Uttoxeter last month and another bold showing like beckons as there should be a lot more to come. L Anamour adds further spice to the race for powerful connections and he can be expected to go well, while it might also be worth considering Fortescue Wood, who has won a bumper and novice hurdle at this track. totewin: Benassi toteeachway: L Anamour

A case can be made for plenty of these but none more so than BOBBY BOW, who was second on his return from a 642-day break at Ffos Las last month. That was his chasing debut and the nine-year-old is entitled to improve for the experience. Ardera Cross and Wee Small Hours are recent winners who merit consideration, while Gold Emery edges out The Jad Factor and Rowdy Rustler to be the pick of the remainder.

Probable S.P’s: 9-2 Jessiemac (IRE), 5-1 Atomic Angel (GB), 6-1 Joanna I’m Fine (IRE), 15-2 Lady Bowes (GB), 8-1 Lady Tremaine (IRE), 9-1 September Daisy (GB), 12-1 Follow That (GB), 22-1 Gale Force One (IRE), 28-1 Reve de Niamh (GB), Howzat Hiris (FR), 40-1 Gypsey’s Secret (IRE), 66-1 Farne Island (GB)
Jessiemac sets the standard after finishing second over C&D earlier in the month and a 4lb rise shouldn’t prevent another bold bid. There are, however, two interesting handicap debutants who are up markedly in distance. Farne Island and GALE FORCE ONE are respected with a chance taken on the latter. The Nicky Richards inmate has a 703-day absence to overcome, but she’s bred to be a lot better than her current mark and may prove a different proposition in this sphere.

ESPRIT DU POTIER sets a lofty standard on the back of an impressive win over C&D last month. Conditions may be different on this occasion but he is bred to go on better ground and may have too much for the likes of intriguing newcomer I Am No Risk The Stuart Crawford stable have a great record around here and Giacosa should not be dismissed either.
