Allerton Park Horse Trials

Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th September 2022 www.allertonparkhorsetrials.co.uk

The committee is also most grateful to Nell Lady Mowbray for generously hosting the event within this beautiful setting. We wish to thank the family for making their estate and staff available to prepare the park and for the many years the horse trials has run.

OLYMPIC LEGACY

Allerton Park Horse Trials are honored to be a beneficiary of the 2012 Olympic Legacy in the form of two jump complexes -The Chestnut Logs and the East End Market Barrows. These were jumped by our Silver-medal winning GB team.

WELCOME TO ALLERTON PARK

The Allerton Park Horse Trials Committee is deeply indebted to the events’ sponsors, who enable us to maintain our cross-country courses to a high standard and introduce new jumps and features such as the Dew Pond complex.

NO DOGS OFF LEADS - FINE £20

NO DRIVING OF UNAUTHORISED VEHICLES OUTSIDE CAR PARKS Front Cover: Amie Slinger on My Luv by Action Stills Photography

Watch the harmony of horse and rider coming together in dressage. Then move on to our lively central arena with plenty of tradestands and food stalls to see some exciting rounds of show jumping. Leading you onto the ultimate challenge of eventing - the cross country with it’s courses taking you out across open countryside to view horse and rider tackling a huge variety of obstacles at speed. We welcome dogs, but please be sure to have your them on a secure short lead at all times to ensure the competitors safety and enable you to appreciate and respect this special environment and enjoy it’s wildlife.

We are enormously indebted to our huge band of loyal volunteers - dressage and fence judges, timekeepers, stewards, T-run staff and many more who, so generously give their time throughout the year, without whose help, this event would be unable to run. We owe special thanks to our highly professional emergency teams of doctors and veterinary surgeons, whose expertise and advice is totally invaluable.

GRATEFUL THANKS

Please enjoy a weekend of exciting sport in our historic parkland.

And finally, special thanks to the Estate staff for their work throughout the year, and our grazier, Simon Armstrong, who looks after the pasture so well, and is exceptionally tolerant of our requests to move his sheep about. Additionally we would like to offer our thanks to Ripon Farm Services for their generous loan of their exhibition trailer for our dressage personnel, and the use of their Gators. We also are very appreciative of the loan of dressage boards from Askham Bryan College and would like to thank Tim at Colton Signs for his help.

Timing Team White Rose

If anyone is interested

The team originally timed motor sport events for example the RAC Rally and it was through this that the team was approached by Bramham Horse Trials and asked if they would be interested in timing a different type of horse power. We have timed at Bramham Horse Trials every year since 1974.

We have timed at Bramham Horse Trials every year since 1974. Only a very few of the original team are still involved, but others have joined us. We currently support events mainly in Yorkshire for approximately 30 days each year where we get to chat to the Olympic stars of London 2012 and the future stars of tomorrow. in joining us please contact Mrs. Gay Steel 01423 501091 for further details.

We give our time freely as volunteers to Yorkshire events covering approximately 21 days per year. As with all volunteers we are of varying ages and backgrounds but most of the team have been involved with horses at some stage and we enjoy the sport of eventing.

If anyone is interested

Today’s cross country timekeepers and starters are part of the White Rose Events Timing Team. Originally a motor sport timing team, officials, who were running a special stage on the RAC Rally at Bramham Park, were approached by the organisers of Bramham Horse Trials and asked if they would be interested in timing the horse trials.
