PARTNER SPOTLIGHT:

Christian Student Fellowship at the University of Kentucky

A Note from Rob.

If you didn’t know, we help support 18 global partners—one of which is Christian Student Fellowship (CSF), a campus ministry located at the University of Kentucky.

CSF is a non-denominational campus ministry at the University of Kentucky that exists to help students encounter the life-changing person of Jesus through radical hospitality and authentic relationships.

CSF isn’t just a place—it’s a community that reaches across campus. Led by one of my dearest friends, Brian Marshall, their ministry is primarily staffed by about 40 recent UK graduates who experienced CSF as students and now spend their first few years after college helping others find the same hope and community they did.

Each fall, CSF is known across campus for its incredible Welcome Week outreach. In fact, 90% of UK students attend at least one CSF event during their college years! Whether they’re breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest water balloon fight, throwing a non-alcoholic rager on one of UK’s biggest parking decks, or serving free pancakes at 1:00am, CSF goes all out to welcome new students and help them feel connected from day one. During that single week, thousands of students experience Christ’s love through community, and nearly half of CSF’s annual outreach budget is poured into those efforts.

Beyond the big events, CSF’s heartbeat is discipleship. Around 750 students participate in small groups, 700 attend weekly worship, and countless others share meals, retreats, and late-night conversations that deepen faith and friendship.

They’re also helping students love God with their minds through Lewis House, an extension of CSF focused on the intersection of faith and academia. Through book groups, a two-year scholars program, lectures with theologians and authors, and even accredited courses, Lewis House encourages students and the broader Lexington community to think deeply about God and truth.

This fall, CSF opened a brand-new 40,000-square-foot building—a tool that will help them reach even further into campus life. None of this would be possible without faithful partners like NMC, whose support helps equip and send out on-campus missionaries to reach the next generation.

The harvest is ready at the University of Kentucky, and God is moving in powerful ways. Already this year, CSF has seen record-breaking attendance and countless opportunities for students to encounter Jesus.

We may never meet these students on this side of heaven, but one day we’ll celebrate together with countless former UK students who said yes to Jesus because of our shared mission to help people find and follow Him.

Grateful for you ,

Rob

TABLESETTERS

When we serve others, we set the table for them to experience the grace of God. That’s why, around here, we call our volunteers Tablesetters. Our goal is for everyone to experience the joy of serving others as a Tablesetter and serve somewhere within our church. Regardless of your schedule, experience, or gifting, there’s a fulfilling place for you to serve

Discipleship & Marriage

RE:GENERATION

Navigating day-to-day life can be challenging. Whether you find yourself wrestling with anxiety, stuck in hopelessness, uncertain how to break an addiction, feeling lost, or ruled by pride, anger, or fear, you are not alone. We all have struggles to overcome, and we all experience brokenness. But the good news is that we have a God who loves us so much and desires to help us find healing and freedom! God has a plan for you, and through His Word, He offers us a path to find new life in Christ. Re:generation equips us with tools to live the way God has called us to live - in meaningful fellowship with Him and others.

Change is possible! In John 10:10, Jesus says, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” We invite you to experience the abundant life that Jesus desires for you. Join us at the Barrett Campus on any Wednesday at 7:00pm in the theater. Learn more at northmetro.org/regeneration.

RE|ENGAGE

Invest in “I DO!” Take your marriage from good to great, bad to better or best to bestest!

Marriages matter, deeply! It’s one of the most important investments you'll ever make. Whether your relationship is thriving, feeling stuck, or struggling, Re|engage is a safe place to pause, reconnect, and remember why you said "I DO" in the first place.

Re|engage is a marriage enrichment ministry designed for couples ready to invest time and energy into building a stronger marriage, want to grow together and draw closer to Christ. It’s not just for couples in crisis—it’s for anyone who wants to move their marriage from good to great, or from hurting to healing.

Through a combination of large-group teaching and small-group discussions, you and your spouse are challenged and encouraged to use practical, biblical tools to strengthen your relationship. You’ll grow in your walk with Jesus and learn how to apply gospel-centered principles to your marriage—all within a supportive community of other couples walking a similar journey.

We offer Re|engage twice a year, in August

and January, at both campuses. Registration for the January semester is now open. Don’t miss this opportunity to reinvest in your marriage and experience growing together, reconnect deeply, and rediscover the joy of saying “I DO.” Because your marriage matters—to each other, to your family, and to God. To learn more, visit our Marriage page at northmetro.org/marriage.

MERGE

Strong, healthy marriages start long before the wedding. To build a marriage that lasts and gets off to a great start, we encourage all engaged couples to participate in Merge, our premarital discipleship class. Merge is an eight-week class and is available to those who regularly attend NMC and are engaged. To learn more, visit our Marriage page at northmetro.org/marriage.

MERGE 2.0

Have you previously been married, are in a new relationship, and are considering marriage seriously? In Merge 2.0, we have a specific curriculum to help you lay the foundation for a healthy second marriage. Through the workbook content and a mentor couple who have navigated the dynamics of

a second marriage, Merge 2.0 will give you the tools to help you decide if you're ready and, if so, how to build a biblical union with each other. To learn more, visit our Marriage page at northmetro.org/marriage.

SEWELL MILL CAMPUS

TUESDAYS, JANUARY 27 – MARCH 31, 2026 | 7:00-9:00PM

North Metro Church University (NMCU) is our primary vehicle for studying the Bible together to form a biblical worldview. In NMCU Core, you'll move through a set sequence of classes and learn about the big picture of Scripture and how everything in Scripture points to and is fulfilled in Jesus. In this learning process, NMCU will also help equip you to both understand and communicate your faith to others so that you can become a more faithful follower of Jesus, a disciple who makes disciples. Each semester offered is 10 weeks and goes in sequential order.

Our spring semester enrollment opens on Sunday, November 23, and closes on January 11, 2026. We offer in-person groups for Core, as well as on-demand options for every course. Learn more by visiting northmetro.org/nmcu.

PRAYER

Prayer is powerful. It's one of the most important things we can do as a church. Our staff and leadership would love to come alongside you, fight for you in whatever difficulty you may be experiencing and celebrate any answered prayers. To share your prayer requests, visit northmetro.org/prayer.

HOME REPAIR ASSISTANCE

NMC has a faithful group of men looking to assist widows, single moms, and other ladies in our church. These men are skilled in most areas of basic home repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry; however, they are unable to take on major renovations or projects that require county permitting. If you are a single woman in need of assistance with home maintenance

couples who have been married for three years or less and offer a unique opportunity to lay the groundwork for a strong, Christcentered relationship that lasts a lifetime.

We offer Foundation twice a year, in August and January, at the Barrett campus. The semester-based class meets during the semester on Monday nights. Together we will gather for dinner, fellowship, and meaningful conversation.

Registration for the January semester is now open — we'll explore biblical principles and practical tools to help you grow in unity and deepen your connection as a couple. To learn more, visit our Marriage page at northmetro.org/marriage.

DIVORCE CARE

Divorce Care is a combination of support and education for individuals currently separated or divorced. We understand that divorce can be one of life's most challenging and painful experiences. Our Divorce Care ministry is led by individuals who know what you're experiencing and will support you as you move forward. Through Divorce Care, you will learn how to deal with the heartache of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.

STEPHEN MINISTRY

Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one care ministry that supports those experiencing difficult times. Stephen Ministers are members of our NMC community who are well-trained in encouraging others who are enduring painful times, such as the loss of a loved one, a marriage, a job, or a health issue. If you are facing any of life's difficult circumstances, please consider using a Stephen Minister to help bear your burdens.

FOSTER & ADOPTION SUPPORT

Scripture urges believers to look after the orphans in our community. One way we do this at NMC is to come around families participating in foster care or adoption. In addition, this group is a place to find support and encouragement from others who understand these specific challenges. This group gathers on several occasions throughout the year with the hope of fostering fellowship for these special families.

INFERTILITY & LOSS SUPPORT

BARRETT CAMPUS | NOVEMBER 10 | 7:00-9:00PM

When God calls our hearts to grow our families, He never promises it will be easy, but He does promise to lead when we are lost. Take refuge in knowing you’re not

alone. If you struggle with infertility or have experienced miscarriage or infant loss, there’s a place for you.

WOMEN’S CANCER SUPPORT LUNCHEON

BARRETT CAMPUS | DECEMBER 7 | 12:15-2:00PM

Cancer hits with a terrible punch, whether it’s you, a spouse, parent, sibling, child, or friend. We can't take you out of this storm, but we can walk alongside you and hold you up when the weight is too heavy. We can be that safe place to let all your feelings fall. We can have the honor of praying continually for you and your family. We can be that safe group of ladies who get it without explanation or apologies; we get it all.

If cancer has affected you in any way, we encourage you to reach out to NMC's Cancer Support Group leader, Diana Pethel, at 678.357.2933. This group will lead you to a faithful community of brave, strong women who have learned to trust God no matter what because He is trustworthy.

How Re|engage Transformed the Kays’ Marriage

Meet Brendan and Heather Kays and their two sons, Isaiah and Lucas. Being new to the area, they were in search of a new church home. They visited NMC Sewell Mill, found what they were hoping for and so much more—especially through Re|engage, a marriage enrichment ministry that would eventually transform their relationship. Read on to discover why Re|engage has been so impactful in their lives, how it continues to shape their marriage, and why they believe every couple—no matter where they are—can benefit from this life-giving curriculum.

How/when did you start attending NMC Sewell Mill?

We started attending NMC Sewell Mill on its very first Sunday, July 28, 2024. Our family of three had recently moved from Seattle and were searching for a church home. We ended up buying a house just around the corner from NMC Sewell Mill, and after visiting other churches in the area, we thought, “Hey, why not try the one within walking distance from our house?” Brendan was traveling for work that Sunday, so Heather and their son, Isiah, attended and immediately felt at home. We attended the next week and knew right away it was where we belonged. With Brendan being a relatively newer follower of Jesus, he was looking for solid Biblical teaching and genuine community—and we found both at NMC.

Why did you decide to participate in Re|engage?

When NMC began promoting groups, specifically Re|engage, we immediately knew it was something we both wanted and needed to do. For months, we had been quietly, but desperately, searching for help. We were tiptoeing around some big issues tied to our infertility journey and the direction of our family. Heather remembers telling a friend, “I just wish there was a small group focused on marriage that could help us through the hard stuff.” God heard that prayer. Re|engage was exactly what she had been longing for.

At that point, we had been married nearly seven years. Those years brought both joy and heartache, especially as we navigated communication struggles and the painful road of infertility. After years of fostering in Washington and eventually adopting Isiah, our lives began to revolve around parenting. Somewhere along the way, our marriage began to feel like two roommates just passing each other in the busyness of life.

So, when we heard about a marriage

ministry that could help us reconnect and get close to God, it became obvious that we needed to jump at this chance to strengthen our marriage.

What was most beneficial from your Re|engage experience, and how have you put that into practice within your marriage?

We had a great experience going through the 14 weeks of Re|engage in 2024. The most powerful thing we gained from Re|engage was learning to invite the Lord into our marriage and trust Him fully. Early on, Brendan had a God moment that opened his eyes to his purpose, which was amazing for Heather to witness. When we opened up and shared it with our group, we both cried happy tears.

Our struggles didn’t go away during Re|engage, but through the curriculum and the Holy Spirit, we learned how to communicate better and seek God for answers we didn’t have, which allowed us to tackle difficult conversations. We strengthened our prayer life, which helped us heal past wounds and taught us to keep Christ at the center of our relationship. With Brendan being a new believer, it also ignited a strong desire to dive deeper into God’s Word.

How/why did you become Re|engage leaders?

We knew about three-quarters of the way through the Re|engage semester, this was something we wanted to invest in longterm. We found Re|engage worked, our marriage was growing, and we wanted other couples to experience that too.

We were blessed with great ministry leaders and amazing small group leaders. After starting Re|engage, we found out there was the possibility of adopting a baby boy through an open adoption. Our leaders made a huge difference in helping us facilitate hard but much-needed conversations. We received so much

encouragement from everyone in our small group that sharing the news of our adoption with them was such an incredible experience. Their love and support shaped how we experienced Re|engage and how we now lead other couples.

At the end of the semester, our leaders shared that they'd recommended us to become leaders. What they didn’t know is that we kept our desire to get involved with Re|engage quiet. This was confirmation that we should move forward, and a year later, when life finally allowed, we were ready to jump into leading. Because of the impact on our own marriage, we knew: if there was a need, we wanted to be part of helping others grow, too!

Why would you recommend Re|engage to others? What would you share with someone who is thinking of taking Re|engage?

We would highly recommend Re|engage to every married couple. Whether you have an amazing marriage or you are really struggling, every marriage can benefit from this great ministry. You might even feel like your marriage is doing great (and we truly hope it is!), but even then, there’s always room to grow. God calls us to do the work. He desires transformation for you— transformation you may not even realize is possible.

We want everyone to see that the Lord still works miracles and that His timing is always perfect. If you’re feeling stirred to explore Re|engage, don’t ignore that. There is a reason. Just like we remind our 4-year-old: listen and obey—quickly!

Lastly, Re|engage is for every marriage— whether you're in a season of struggle or thriving. It offers a space to process past hurts, improve communication, and grow in how you love your spouse. Most importantly, it uses God’s Word to deepen your relationship with Him and with each other.

Family Christmas Guide

Christmas is quickly approaching along with all of our expectations and hopes for a perfect holiday season! What if this year was a little bit different? What if, this year, your family focused on the truth and heart of the season? What if everything we sing about and celebrate at Christmastime is true? Walk alongside NMC Kids with our 2025 Family Christmas Guide, A Curious Christmas: What if it's True?!

Each week leading up to Christmas, you and your family will begin with a new question like, “What if it’s true that God keeps His promises?” Then, you'll take the time to read a few verses or passages and discuss the truth that answers each question. There are also activities to complete as a family each week. Our prayer is that as your family reads the Bible, completes activities, and make memories together, you also allow the truth of Christmas to change everything.

We never want to lose the shock, awe, and wonder that is the Christmas story because, if the Christmas story is true, it changes everything! This year, as kids and families are going through weekly "What if?" questions, the Christmas series in the auditorium will too! All family members of NMC will be exploring how the birth of Jesus changes everything—because if it’s true, it changes US!

DONATE BY SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23

The Christmas Market with Mission 1:27 is here!

The Christmas Market is a church-wide gift drive with the goal of making sure that children will experience the excitement of finding a present under the Christmas tree. Last year, Mission 1:27 directly served 617 families (1,800 children), and this year, by partnering with NMC, we hope to serve over 650 families in our community. This is one of our favorite ways to Be Missed in our community and to serve others by giving to them what God has given to us.

Get involved today by purchasing gifts from our Amazon Wishlist. This is our greatest need because we want to make sure every child from those 650 families has a gift! All donations are needed by Sunday, November 23, and can be sent to our Barrett Campus: 2305 Barrett Parkway NW Marietta, GA 30064

You can also get involved by volunteering to serve at Mission 1:27's Christmas Market, where all the families will receive their gifts. There are opportunities to help set up on Wednesday, December 10 and Thursday, December 11 or at the Market on Saturday, December 13.

Find the Amazon Wishlist and sign up to volunteer at northmetro.org/christmasmarket.

Change is possible! We all have struggles to overcome. Whether big or small, destructive habits with things like anxiety, alcohol, overspending, fear, sexual addiction, and a need for control hold us back from the life we want—and the life God calls us to live. God offers us principles through His Word where freedom and new life can be found. Re:generation, a ministry at NMC, is for everyone, no matter who you are or what you are struggling with. Read below to hear how God used Re:generation Katrina's life.

I’ve been meditating on Frank Forrest’s song “No Longer Bound.” It has a hip-hop vibe — more upbeat than the slow ballads we often sing in worship — yet every time I hear it, all I can do is worship God, because He has truly set me free.

Hi, my name is Katrina, and I have a new life in Christ, and I’m in recovery from anger, rage, and control. When I entered Re:generation I was bound. I was trapped in this circle of sin and control. You could call me “The Juggler”. I was constantly trying to juggle all the balls of life attached to me, my husband, and my children. It was necessary for me to control everything around me so life could go as smoothly as I had planned in my mind. Surely my motivation was love, and for years it felt like it was going well, but then slowly and one by one, those balls started to drop, and the cracks started to show. My marriage was in shambles, and my controlling parenting style had left my kids unconfident and fearful, and I didn’t know what else to do. I had come to the end of myself.

During Re:gen, I learned, among many things, to trust in the sovereignty of God. At first, it was like

teaching a child to walk. I had been “in control” for so long, I didn’t know how to let go of the reins. But as I started to relinquish control to a God who is truly in control, that’s when I found my footing. As my anxiety lifted, I came to understand that nothing I do can derail God’s perfect plan — not for my life, and not for anyone else’s. How arrogant of me to think that I could.

Today, I breathe so much easier; I’m not carrying all the weight of the responsibility of everyone and everything. I continue to lay my burdens at the Father’s feet and trust that He hears me. I laugh more. I feel lighter. Christ truly came to set us free. And whom Christ sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). Indeed, I am free. If you’re carrying the weight of trying to control everything, I want to encourage you: let go and trust God’s sovereignty. He’s faithful, and His plan is perfect. The same freedom He’s given me, He offers to you too.

Re:generation meets on Wednesdays at 7:00pm at the Barrett Campus. Join us on Wednesdays in the Theater! Visit northmetro.org/regeneration to learn more.

An update from Ivan Mijango. Redeemer's House, or Casa del Redentor, is North Metro Church's international ministry in Panajachel, Guatemala.

Chuitziyut: A Beacon of Light in the Mountains

A little over three years ago, we began to see the first fruits of many years of work in Chuitziyut, the most remote and smallest village where we serve. For a long time, we maintained a presence in the community by providing meals to families and teaching the Bible to the children. We had no idea what God was preparing, especially during the difficult moments when we had to face and overcome obstacles.

There was a season when the local ancestral authorities prohibited us from entering. They never gave us a specific reason, though we sensed it was because they were not entirely comfortable with us sharing the gospel with the mothers who came to pick up food for their children. For more than a year, we were unable to visit the village, which broke our hearts since we had a close relationship with many of the children and their mothers. However, God reminded us once again that when He opens a door, no one can shut it. Every two years, the local authorities change, and when the term of those who had restricted us ended, the new leaders extended an invitation to return and continue our programs, including teaching the Bible and sharing about God, without any opposition.

Over time, we have also faced other challenges that kept us from reaching the village: landslides that blocked the road for days, paving projects that closed access for weeks, and other obstacles. Yet even when it seemed that we were only maintaining contact

with the community without making a visible impact, God was preparing hearts. And on the day we first invited families to meet in the Bailey Pavilion (now the church building), they came with excitement, listened to the message, and received Jesus. As Alex, a missionary who was present during that time, said: “It was the easiest place to evangelize because people already knew and trusted CDR.” All of this was possible because we chose to persevere, even when immediate results were not visible.

Today, a small group continues to grow as a church in Chuitziyut. Every Tuesday morning, mothers and children come with joy to worship together, study God’s Word, and pray. There is still much work to be done and surely new challenges to face, but we trust that Chuitziyut will be a beacon of light to the surrounding communities. We believe that from this small, hidden village in the mountains—one that very few people even know by name— leaders, pastors, preachers, and evangelists will rise to shine the light of Jesus and help others find and follow Him.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for faithfully praying for this ministry and for the communities we serve, and for the ongoing support that makes this work possible. My desire is that every member of NMC could experience firsthand, at least once in their lifetime, what God is doing here. Hopefully, on one of the upcoming mission trips, we’ll have the joy of sharing this unforgettable experience together.

Ivan

2025 GOALS

GOAL #1: HELP 1,000 PEOPLE FIND JESUS

We’re telling our friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers about our great God, who loves us immeasurably more than we can imagine. We want to celebrate with you if you’ve played a part in helping someone move from death to life or if you came to faith in Christ! We invite you to share your story by visiting the Contact Us page at northmetro.org.

We currently support seven church plants, including Take Hold in Scotland, Grace Auburn in Auburn, Alabama, Creekside in Dallas, Georgia, Deeper Church in Dallas, Georgia, Heirloom Church in Kyle, Texas, Oaks Community Church in Naples, Florida, and Compassion International in Guatemala.

As we near the end of 2025, we are praying our guts out and are entirely dependent on the Lord! He has entrusted us with our vision to “Be Missed” and our mission, “We Help People Find and Follow Jesus.” To live that out, we have set three God-sized goals to aim for as a church. PEOPLE ENROLLED IN NMCU 1,518 PEOPLE FOUND 406

#2: HELP 1,000 PEOPLE ENROLL IN NMCU GOAL #3: EXPAND THE KINGDOM OF GOD THROUGH NEW CHURCH PLANTS NATIONALLY AND GLOBALLY

Before Jesus left the disciples, He said, “Go make disciples.” A tangible way to see that hope realized is through our discipleship program, NMCU. We’re looking to see 1,000 people faithfully following Jesus, equipped with knowledge of Scripture, to share their beliefs with others ultimately. NMCU creates disciples that make disciples.

Church plants are an expression of our multiplication strategy, multiplying the mission to help people find and follow Jesus.

2030 GOALS

God has entrusted us with a powerful vision — to Be Missed, and a clear mission: We help people find and follow Jesus. To live that out, we’ve set five God-sized goals that will stretch our faith and grow His Kingdom.

GOAL #1: 1,000 GRADUATES OF NMCU CORE

We want to see 1,000 people grounded in Scripture, faithfully following Jesus, and ready to share their faith with others. NMCU equips disciples to become disciple-makers.

CURRENT CORE GRADUATES: 480

GOAL #2: 1,000 PEOPLE MOBILIZED TO SERVE LOCALLY & GLOBALLY

The Great Commission calls us to make disciples of all nations. Our aim is to mobilize 1,000 North Metro family members to be the hands and feet of Jesus — both in our community and around the world.

CURRENT MISSION TEAM MEMBERS: 85

GOAL #3: 500 RE:GENERATION COMMENCEES

Jesus came to give life — and life abundantly. We’re trusting God to bring freedom, healing, and renewal to 500 people through Re:generation, helping those who feel stuck find hope and transformation.

CURRENT COMMENCEES: 127

GOAL #4: PLANT FIVE NEW CHURCHES

Church planting is central to our multiplication strategy — taking the mission of helping people find and follow Jesus into new communities. We currently support seven church plants: Take Hold (Scotland) • Grace Auburn (Auburn, AL) • Creekside (Dallas, GA) • Deeper Church (Dallas, GA) Heirloom Church (Kyle, TX) • Oaks Community Church (Naples, FL) • Compassion International (Guatemala)

GOAL #5: LAUNCH TWO ADDITIONAL NORTH METRO CAMPUSES

Campuses allow us to multiply our mission right here at home. We currently have two campuses - Barrett and Sewell Mill. — and we’re praying for two more by 2030.
