Transitioning from a battle rapper to an artist proved to be a challenge because he had to find his sound. The differences between the two styles of music is the creative process. Battle rap is more like an aggressive competitive sport where your pen game has to be sharp, always. With music, there are so many different lanes, the versatility of it makes it less aggressive in comparison to battle rap. As an artist, though, he never falls short of lyrical, soulful and raw. Twayne Towns has grown into a natural deliverer of straight fire, it’s too easy and natural for him.
It makes sense for Twayne Towns to be motivated by overlooking past work and witnessing his growth. It’s a satisfying feeling going back and seeing just how much better you have gotten. While Twayne Towns is self-motivated, he is inspired by his peers who also make music, hearing his friends and how they speak on their lives only reassures Twayne Towns that he can too. Admiring the greats before him, artists like Jadakiss, Styles P and DMX had great relatable content because what they rapped about were things that Twayne Town had experienced coming from Harlem and the Bronx.
Being insightful, receptive and influential Twayne Towns steads fast on the belief of remaining your true self always.
Authenticity takes you much farther than hoping on a trend that is sure to die out sooner rather than later. Make sure you’re always walking into every room as yourself!
As for what’s to come, Twayne Towns will be dropping an EP this summer, a follow up to his latest project “Pray 4 Rain”. Don’t forget to add him on Instagram @ and tap in for “twaynetuesdays” a freestyle series that airs on IGTV every Tuesday.
