Skill Orientation of Entrepreneurship Workshop
Some 40 participants from the handicraft sector completed a threeday Skill Orientation for Entrepreneurship Workshop with the theme "Enhancing Competency of Handicrafts" held at the Dewan Digadong Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports organsied by WBC in collaboration with the Community Development Department. Guest of Honour Datin Hajah Adina Othman, Director of Community Development Department. Two experts Shirley Sia Ong from Tribal Craft and Rey Luciao Soliven, Industrial Product Designer from Alumni Product Design and Development Centre, both from the Philippines, conducted the workshop. The participants had opportunities to learn various designs and quality and learnt how to price their products. The workshop focused on bag making, tribal craft, environmental scanning, raw materials, designing, beading, houseware, laminating techniques, flower vases, trays, picture frames, coasters and pillowmaking using natural materials.
