Korean ASEAN Women’s SME Cooperative Network
This is the second time WBC has participated in this study visit programme funded by the Republic of Korea. WBC was represented by Dyg Hjh Halus Hj Karim and Dyg Hjh Kamariah Hj Hasbullah. This programme offers an opportunity to promote women SME’s entrepreneurs by exchanging business information as well as establishing human network between Korean and ASEAN Women SME’s and through the lectures, study visits to Samsung Electronics, Jungil Machines Company, Sookmyung Women’s University and Kimanson Instrument Company and site training, the participants had the opportunity to share management stories of women CEO’s and prominent SMEs and large companies success stories and best practices besides experiencing the Korean culture and way of life.

Quality service training workshop in Brunei Darussalam for FY 2009
The workshop was aimed at improving the quality of service provided to Japanese tourists by understanding Japanese traditions, culture and lifestyle. It was organised by the Brunei Tourism and the ASEAN Japan Centre and conducted by Yoshinori Yama, and Mr Joukei Fuchigami. Some 50 participants from the departments of Forestry, Brunei Museums, Royal Excise and Customs, Immigration and National Registration, hoteliers and participants from various travel agencies and the Woemn’s Business Council took part in the workshop. WBC was represented by Datin Paduka Hjh Rokiah, Hjh Mordiah and Dk Hamdiah.

Branding Workshop
A twoday Branding Workshop on “What is branding? How can Brunei SMEs benefit?” was organised by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) together with the ASEANJapan Centre (AJC). It was held at the Empire Hotel and Country Club and aimed at enhancing local SMEs' abilities in branding and marketing, while also promoting diversity and quality of local handicrafts and food products. BEDB has identified food and handicraft as industries with enormous potential. Branding 'Made in Brunei' products will be instantly identifiable as high quality premium products. Participants of the twoday workshop comprised many local SMEs from the handicraft and food industry in particular. WBC participation was led by Datin Paduka Hjh Rokiah.
