Call to Worship

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth; We worship the Lord with gladness!

George Frideric Handel (1685-1759)

Herbert Sumsion (1899-1995)

Come into God’s presence with joyful singing and praise; We are God’s people; the sheep of the Good Shepherd’s pasture!

Enter the Lord’s gates with thanksgiving, proclaiming God’s love; We give thanks for the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness to us through all generations!

+ Call to Confession

+ Prayer of Confession

ST. KEVIN

Merciful God, we long for justice, for peace within and for peace without. We long for harmony in our families, for the day when our homes will be a dwelling place for your love. Yet we confess that we are often anxious, we do not trust each other. We harbor anger and resentment; we do not trust one another. We often are not willing to take risks and to make the sacrifices that love requires. Forgive us, oh God. May your Holy Spirit guide us, in our homes, our hearts, and in the world. Through the mercy of our Savior. Amen.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness

Friends, hear the Good News of the Gospel.

In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you. + Passing of the Peace

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy

Little Innocent Lamb

Trad. African-American Spiritual Arr. Marshall Bartholomew (1885-1978)

Little lamb, little lamb, little innocent lamb (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die). Hypocrite! Tell you what he do (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die). He’ll talk about me, and he’ll talk about you (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die). Little lamb, little lamb, little innocent lamb (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die). Devil, he’s got a slippery shoe (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die), If you don’t mind, he gonna slip it on you (I’m agonna serve God till I die). ‘Cause there ain’t no dying over there, in that heavenly land, there’ll be joy! Just take one brick from Satan’s wall, (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die). Satan’s wall gonna tumble an ’ fall (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die). Little lamb, little lamb, little innocent lamb (I’m a-gonna serve God till I die). ‘Cause there ain’t no dying over there, in that heavenly land, there’ll be joy.
