DEACONS’ EASTER EGG TREE
Celebrating Success
On April 12, between 8:00 and 9:30 AM, the Wayne Presbyterian Church parking lot buzzed with activity as 13 volunteers gathered to pack donations Each container, carefully filled with food and goodies, was prepared for delivery to the mission partners, where they were met with heartfelt gratitude. The Deacons, led by coordinators Bill Pentz and Linda & Bill Nirmaier, ensured smooth operations, offering early drop-off options for those unable to attend the final event.
The annual Deacons' Easter Egg Tree Ministry concluded with resounding success on April 12 , 2025 , achieving 100% of its goal by providing Easter meals and seasonal items to 83 families , totaling 281 people in need.
Launched on March 19, the campaign partnered with Salt & Light Community Church in SW Philadelphia, Salvation Army in Norristown, and St John AME Church in Rosemont to deliver essential support to communities across the region
Participants selected families through the church’s website or inperson during coffee hour, shopping for holiday meal essentials tailored to each mission partner. Many went above and beyond, adding thoughtful extras like toys, games, clothes, toiletries, and gift cards, ensuring families received both nourishment and joy.
This year ’ s campaign exemplified the power of community generosity, with every family served receiving not just a meal but a meaningful expression of care The Easter Egg Tree Ministry continues to strengthen bonds between WPC and its mission partners, fostering hope and connection during the Easter season
