ORDER OF WORSHIP
Sunday, June 1, 2025
Seventh Sunday of Easter
+ Please stand as you are able.
Prelude | Selah + Te Deum Bell Choirs | Ryan Fleming, Director Kevin McChesney (b. 1963) Proclamation
+ Call to Worship
All who thirst, come to the water. Come, all who are weary.
The Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus washes over us. Let us drink deeply of these living waters!
+ Hymn 611: HYMN TO JOY Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee
+ Call to Confession
+ Prayer of Confession
God of mercy, our hearts are restless. We are distracted; we are impatient. Again and again, we lash out at others and fail to show grace to one another. Open our hearts to the fruit of the Spirit you cultivate within us. Forgive us, reconcile us with each other, and guide us back to you. Help us to embody patience with one another, and also with ourselves. For the sake of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
+ Declaration of Forgiveness
Christ Jesus loves us so much that he laid down his life for us and calls us his friends. If we can forgive our friends, how much more does Christ forgive us.
Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
+ Response of Praise: Alleluia!

+ Passing of the Peace
The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

Affirmation of Faith | The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

NORTH AFRICA MISSIONARY FAMILY
Our Missionary Family serves in North Africa where they are part of a team working and living in the capital city, which is predominantly Muslim, in order to be a witness for Jesus Christ. The parents teach in an English-speaking school and the family shares the good news of Christ through relationship evangelism. Pray for their language learning, the new young church in their country and for local people to have an interest in studying God's word.
