Hairdressing Council

The Hairdressing Council of Ireland (“the Council”) was set up as a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation to have a fresh approach to what was needed within the entire Hairdressing sector. Progressive thinkers, with open minds, and a genuine selfless interest came together and formed the executive committee.

Primarily, the aim was for a National Apprenticeship which has now happened and the second term students have started. There were other issues including keeping VAT at 9% VAT. Covid issues are of course front and centre now. The first President of the organisation was Bridget Haren. Followed by a 2 year term by Sean Taaffe.
