Hanover girls claim runners-up trophy at state BY DAN THALMANN Publisher
The Hanover girls placed second as a team in Class 1A at the Kansas State Track & Field Championships on Saturday in Wichita. The Wildcats were just 1.5 points behind Centralia when the weekend came to a close. The group claimed gold medals in the 800
and 4x400 meter relay (with a last-second dip at the finish line) and silvers in the 4x800 meter relay and 4x100 meter relay. They also placed in the top eight in several other events. With just one senior in this year’s state group (Riley Doebele), Hanover should be a contender at state again next year.
