What a year! Until now, we have +25.000 players signed up from 6 continents in World Amateur Match Race this year.
The biggest event is just around the corner, which is the World Final of the World Amateur Match Race 2022 Season Star 1. It requires a lot of planning to welcome 72 players from 14 countries who will be treated like the “Pros” on the Tour.
We can welcome readers and players to Season Start 2 for selected countries with great pleasure. Argentina, Australia, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Thailand and southern parts of the US.
The calendar shows it is autumn now, and soon the golf season will be over in many countries due to the weather. But this is luckily not the case in the countries for Season Start 2, where the sun will be shining and the golf season will still be on!
I wish you all the best of luck at the golf course and cannot wait to see the finalists from Season Start 1 here in Dubai in November.
The World Final of the World Amateur Match Race 2022 - Season Star 1 is just around the corner, and it requires much planning to welcome 72 players from 14 countries that will be treated like the “Pros” on the Tour.
All finalists at the World Final in Dubai will have a magical golfing experience. Together with
our partners & sponsors, we will host the most unforgettable World Final here in Dubai.
In this year's final, we will take last year's final to the next level by pairing 3 individual teams representing a team owned by a sponsor.
The team players of each sponsored team will be presented at the opening ceremony and be introduced to their team name and logo.
The final event in Dubai is played over 54 holes, spread over 3 days. The form of play is best ball, Texas Paris Scramble and single stroke play.
The individual team with the best net score after 54 holes is the winner of the second edition of the World Amateur Match Race.
We will accumulate the 3 individual teams' stroke results for the sponsor team competition. The sponsor team with the best net score after 54 holes is the winner of the World Amateur Match Race 2022 sponsor team competition.
At the time of writing, we are negotiating TV rights with a local television company in the United Arab Emirates.
TV broadcasting will be a new big milestone for the World Amateur Match Race. Along the broadcasting, we will also have branded boards on the tees, TV cameras on every hole, live broadcasts on television, streaming across the web and social platforms, pre and post-round interviews with players and sponsors while family and friends are watching from around the world.
It will be a magical golfing experience for all finalists.
At the World Final in Dubai in November, we will play on 3 fantastic golf courses. Our Tournament Director, Sten Haakan Aakerlund, and his son Carl Aakerlund have played them all, and here are their favourite holes on the various final courses.
The first final round will be played on Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth course, where the DP World Tour Championship is played It is a culmination of The Race to Dubai and European Tour Season
As the final of Race To Dubai is played only the week before, you will experience a world class track with the same challenges as the pros
The 16th, Earth, Jumeirah Golf Estates 486 Yards, Par 4, Stroke Index 10
The 18th on Earth is undoubtedly a strong finishing hole designed to provide a dramatic finish but the favorite hole are the 16th, 486 Yards, Par 4. The best players on Earth breathe a sigh of relief if they escape here without a scorecard glitch during the DP World Tour Championship each November so who are we to sniff at par? Proof again a hole needn’t be long to be challenging. Watch that your tee shot doesn’t bound right, never to be seen again. Commit fully to the approach shot too, ignoring the water that frames the partial island green. Yeah, we can’t either.
The second round is played on the Dubai Creek championship golf course. Golf World Magazine has voted this course one of the world’s ‘Top Must Play Golf Courses.
Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club opened in January 1993 to world acclaim, and since then, it has been host to numerous tournaments and events, including the Dubai Desert Classic on two occasions. Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke jointly hold the course record of 63.
Hole 6 it’s one of the most iconic holes in the Middle East. It’s also one of the most daunting, particularly the tee shot from the tee floating in The Creek. But our favourite hole is.
The 18th, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club 421 Yards, Par 4, Stroke Index 3
Likewise, be thankful you haven’t had to play the previous hole at the Creek before you roll up to this beautifully brutal par 4. There is actually no option here other than hitting it arrow straight down the middle and then purposefully onto the green. There is no Creek, or sand, or rocks guarding the green to send your ball there anyway. Whom are we kidding? Grab a group selfie with the iconic clubhouse in the background and forget that double. Or was it a triple?
The final round is played at Trump International Golf Club. Ranked one of the best golf clubs in the Middle East, Trump International Dubai continues to achieve the highest accolades.
This stunning property features an exquisite championship links style golf course designed by world renowned and 2016 Olympic golf course architect Gil Hanse and boasts state of the art golf facilities. Complementing the magnificent golf course and world class golf facilities, the 30,000 square foot clubhouse.
The 18th, Trump International Golf Club, Dubai 425 Yards, Par 4, Stroke Index 3
Just don’t go left. Easier said than done on designer Gil Hanse’s closing hole at Trump Dubai. With that man-made lake hugging the dog-legged par 4, it’s easy to push it way right off the tee, which then brings the wet stuff into play with your approach.
Aim right of the green and hope for a member’s bounce onto the putting surface because any chip, downhill and with that ever-present water begging, is sure to unearth any jitters in your short game. In an effort not to thin it? A frustrating fat? Fun and sometimes frightening.
"If you love the game of golf, it's hard not to have this week as the best of 2021."
"My team and I have done everything in our power to give players a magical golf experience and a great time in lovely Dubai. Though the players are all amateurs, we wanted to treat them like the pros on The Professional Tour."
"Memories that we will never forget!"
"32 competitors to start the week, 32 friends at the end! We are already looking forward to seeing all the previous and new finalists back in Dubai this year!"

Do not miss the opportunity to use reserve players.
If you cannot play all the matches during the World Amateur Match Race, do not worry; we got a solution for you and your team! Each team has the right to use two reserve players, and you may only use the same players. These reserves can complement the team if needed throughout the competition.
Using up to two reserve players during the competition gives the team the necessary flexibility in case of injury, work, vacation, etc.
World Padel Race 2022 - is our first sport concept outside the “golf world”, and we are super excited to present this tournament worldwide. As many of you know by now, Padel is one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
e are thrilled to see the support and engagement stretching from some of the great
Padel nations like the Mexico, Portugal and Belgium.
The tournament structure for World Padel Race 2022 is a little different. Still, essential is the same with a local group of teams competing in a season-long tournament, where the winner of a group qualifies for a knockout playoff tournament, where all the winners will be eligible for the grand final in Dubai in May 2023.
