Dean Mceachern from Brisbane, Australia
INTERVIEW BY MARTIN JENSEN
We are thrilled to present Dean Mceachern from Pacific Harbour Golf Club in Brisbane, Australia, as the pioneering player to embrace our revolutionary Local Chapter Club Owner concept within the World Amateur Match Race.
Dean Mceachern, a dedicated supporter of our Happy Tech Group, has elevated his involvement with the World Amateur Match Race through our Local Chapter Club Owner initiative Having stood by us since our inception in Australia and even played the World Final in Dubai in 2023. He now extends his commitment by not only investing in our company but also securing Local Chapter Club Owner rights for a couple of golf clubs like Pacific Harbour Golf Club and Nudgee Golf Club.
Becoming a Local Chapter Owner for the two golf clubs was a seamless decision for Dean. He was drawn to the concept of bridging the gap between local players eager to participate in the WAMR and the organizing body
Dean expresses, "My own WAMR experience was truly exceptional, and I've also forged valuable friendships with the Dubai headquarters. This tournament holds immense potential, not solely in Australia, but on a global scale."
Whatdoyouconsidertobethebestaspectsoftheconcept?
This Local Chapter Club Owner initiative creates a win-win situation for everyone involved – the local players, the Local Chapter Club Owners themselves, and World Amateur Match Race.
The Local Chapter Club Owner, being familiar with their local golf club, becomes the ideal point of contact, capable of engaging with other players. WAMR can provide enhanced local support through the Local Chapters. If a player has any inquiries, they can reach out to their Local Chapter and receive an immediate response or even arrange a personal meeting This elevated level of service is a significant benefit for WAMR, ensuring better local support for all participants.
Soit'snotjustaboutmoneyforyouas LocalChapterClubOwner?
Absolutely not, but of course, the annual compensation, whether it comes from me or if someone signs up directly on the website, is important and a part of my investment that allows me to recoup the investment within a reasonable time.
I really like the concept and also the new opportunities to create day events and the network that is formed through Local Chapter Club Owners, which opens up more exciting projects in the future.
Whatdoyouconsidertobethebiggestchallenge fortheWorldAmateurMatchRace?
The challenge is definitely reaching out to all potential players. The market is enormous, and with the Local Chapter Club Owners, we are getting closer to all players and can address the tournament's credibility in a completely different way than just relying on social media marketing.
There are still many who believe it's a scam, too good to be true to win 8 matches and then play at the World Final in Dubai, where the World Amateur Match Race covers flights, hotel, and green fees.
I have personally experienced the final in person with a large group of players from all over the world.
Everyone was in complete agreement that they had never experienced anything better. Everything was just great, and you felt like one of the famous PGA pros!
17/ WORLDAMATEURMATCHRACE COM - OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT MAGAZINE | AUGUST 2023
The playoffs are currently taking place for Season Start #1 in Australia, and Season Start #2 is approaching quickly. Is there a lot to focus on at the moment?
Yes, James Liddell and I are currently in the playoffs and are just a few matches away from securing a spot in the final.
Like everyone else, we're hopeful to make it and qualify for the Dubai final in November. I'm also eager to encourage more people in Australia to join Season Start #2, which begins in October. The more players we have, the shorter the journey, and regardless of the number of participants, everyone has an equal chance to reach the final
Furthermore, I am looking into collaborations with clubs and companies interested in organizing day events or internal tournaments, where the victors can directly qualify for one of the finals in Dubai.
Whether you're contemplating participating in the World Amateur Match Race or are intrigued by the idea of a customized golf event feel free to reach out directly with the partnership manager, Martin Jensen, from World Amateur Match Race, at martin@happytechgroup com

This tournament has to be for players who are honest all the way. We are fully aware of
handicap cheaters, especially when the prize is a fully paid trip to Dubai
Thousands of matches are played yearly in our tournament, and complaints are reported to us for various reasons. We always look at a complaint from a holistic level and ask the involved parties about documentation, explanations, contacting previous teams, golf clubs and federations etc. The outcome from our tournament committee does not always suit the disqualified team, maybe we are right, maybe not, but a decision will be made.
Some teams do not quite live up to the code of conduct in this lovely gentleman's sport, and a breach of any code of conduct can also disqualify a team
More teams are getting disqualified than ever!
As previously mentioned in our November 2022 edition of the Tournament Magazine, we have implemented a new artificial intelligence (AI) system to help us detect handicap cheaters Additionally, we have made it mandatory for all players to have an official handicap, and in countries where this is not a common practice, we adapt to local rules and regulations.
Golf has always been known as a gentleman's sport, but we must also acknowledge that as players have the opportunity to win prizes like a fully paid trip to the World Final in Dubai, we are seeing an increase in "creative" players who do not belong in our tournament
It is absolutely unacceptable for teams and players to not adhere to the rules of our tournament, which is why we have a zerotolerancepolicy. If you break our rules, you will be instantly disqualified.
It is the responsibility of allplayers to familiarize themselves with our rules and the tournament schedule.
Our AI system cross-checks a vast amount of data and performs accurate pattern recognition and behaviour analysis, helping us identify handicap cheaters and disqualify them immediately
In combination with our technology and the fact that we are now getting closer to our participants through our Local Chapter Club Owners, we are taking further steps towards this.
Please understand that this tool and the actions we take are necessary to ensure fair play and give everyone an equal chance to qualify for the World Final in Dubai.

World Padel Race 2022 - is our first sport concept outside the “golf world” and in May 2023, the World Final took place in Dubai.
In October 2022, we embarked on an incredible journey with the first edition of the World Padel Race. After the registration period ended, we were overjoyed to announce that this seasonlong event would take place in several amazing countries, including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, and Mexico.
From October until the end of April 2023, thousands of Padel matches were played worldwide, building up to the grand World Finale in Dubai. We are proud to say that none of the finalists had ever experienced an event quite like this before
From the moment they arrived at Dubai airport, greeted by private name signs, to their luxurious beach hotel on the iconic Palm Jumeirah, and private chauffeur service to and from the courts, we made sure they had an unforgettable experience.
They arrived in style in a Lamborghini Urus,Not to mention the incredible Padelx courses in Dubai, located right on the water
On the 18th of May, all the players flew into Dubai, where we warmly welcomed them.
Over the following two days, the World Final unfolded with thrilling group matches, intense semi-finals, and a climactic final on the 21st of May. Right from the first day, we witnessed some truly magnificent matches.
22/ WORLDAMATEURMATCHRACE COM - OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT MAGAZINE | AUGUST 2023
In Group A, we saw incredibly close games, like the thrilling clash between Sweden and Norway, ending in a 3/6-6/2-6/2 victory for Sweden, or the Denmark vs. Portugal battle with a 6/2-4/6-6/7 victory for the Danish team. Group A also featured the intense Sweden vs. Denmark match with a 6/4-3/6-6/7 scoreline.
Group B showcased the dominance of the two teams from Belgium and Switzerland, securing their spots in the semifinals Meanwhile, Group C saw the Swiss team excel with their tactical approach and minimal unforced errors, effortlessly winning the group ahead of the Mexican team, who they would meet again in the group final, ultimately won by Dejan and Roberto.
The semifinals for Group A and B pitted Denmark vs Switzerland and Belgium vs Portugal. Denmark and Portugal emerged victorious, setting the stage for a rematch. With scorching temperatures exceeding 40 degrees, the question was who could maintain their energy levels. The Danish team won the first set in a tiebreak, and it seemed like a repeat of the group stage, where Denmark won in three sets However, the Portuguese had a different plan and showcased exceptional Padel skills, winning the next two sets 6/4 - 6/4 and securing their revenge for the earlier loss. They rightfully earned the title of champions and winners of the World Padel Race 2023.
After the thrilling final, we all came together for a lively yacht party featuring a DJ, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and heaps of fun. It was an absolute pleasure to host the World Padel Race Final here in Dubai, surrounded by such lovely, positive, and happy players. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the inaugural edition of the World Padel Race. Now, it is time for us to reflect on the tournament and explore how we can make the second edition of the World Padel Race an even more extraordinary event Stay tuned for more exciting updates
