Westgate Award Management of New Suezmax Tanker to Wallem

W

estgate Tankship Inc. have awarded management of their New Suezmax Tanker to Wallem Ship Management following on from their satisfaction with our Newbuilding and Technical Management services. The 158,000 DWT Suezmax tanker, which is named the R.S. Tara was built at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., (SWS) and launched on 29th August, 2016. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Westgate, providing them with further Newbuilding, Technical and Ship Management services.

“Ovation of the Seas“ Wallem China Delivers for Gearbulk Welcomed to Hong Kong & Singapore

W

allem Ship Agency had the privilege of welcoming Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s brand new Quantum Class Cruise ship 'Ovation of the Seas' to Singapore. The vessel arrived on 8th June 2016 at Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore on her Maiden Voyage to Asia. At 18 decks high, and with a capacity of around 4,900 guests plus 2,000 crew, the Ovation of the Seas is the largest cruise ship to date to call in Asia. Features include a skydiving simulator, bumper cars and the first ever kinetic moving sculpture at sea!

s of the 1st of June, Wallem Shipping China, as general agent in China, began handling Gearbulk's discharging vessels. The first vessel, the M.V. Eagle Arrow called at Changshu early on 6th June and sailed that evening after discharging 7,117 MT of pulp. Prior to the vessel’s arrival, our Wallem colleagues in Changshu made all the necessary preparations. Two boarding officers were also on site to look after the discharging and all necessary formalities. Gearbulk were very happy with our handling of this first shipment and the exemplary customer service they received from Wallem.

The vessel was also welcomed by Wallem on her call to Hong Kong on 17th June. Royal Caribbean Cruise Line arranged a welcome ceremony together with Mr Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International and Mr Gregory So Kam-leung, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.
