Though fall is upon us, that doesn’t mean we have to retreat into hibernation. Autumn can be a long, mild season in Metro Vancouver, and if you want to make the most of every drop of sunshine to come, there are some simple things you can do to make your patio, deck or porch as hospitable as possible, for as long as possible. outdoor investments that can pay off in a big way when it comes to spending cozy times outdoors. 1. Get some lovely soft throw blankets. It’s really enjoyable reading outside when you are able to wrap up in a nice warm blanket while enjoying a warm coffee. It’s the perfect way to start a weekend! 2. Adding some patio heaters can extend your outdoor time well into the winter. There are some

really nice-looking options that are affordable, try Canadian Tire as well as Home Depot for a good selection. 3. Having a firepit is also a great option if you have a back yard. Check your fire regulations, but it is always nice having a fire in the evening during the fall so you can be warm (and roast marshmallows). 4. If you can’t have a firepit, large candles in hurricane lanterns create a warming glow.
