efore the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc around the world, the global events industry generated an estimated $1.13 trillion in 2019, and postpandemic, is expected to recover and reach more than $1.5 trillion by 2028. The global events industry is expected to register a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.2 percent from 2021 to 2028. That is the rosy forecast from a March 2021 Allied
Research Market report, and Puerto Rico is looking forward to having a nice slice of that trillion-dollar market, once the pandemic is over. In terms of the current COVID-19 scenario, the report notes that the Covid-19 pandemic and followed lockdowns have negatively impacted the event industry, as countries around the world imposed strict travel restrictions.
