STEFANO RICCI CRAFTING THE ARTS

In 1972, the Florentine designer Stefano Ricci founded a handmade tie workshop, which over time became renowned for its exceptional level of artisanal craftsmanship. The company gradually expanded, and from its earliest collections, started to include bespoke shirts and leather goods, always honouring Tuscany’s great artisan tradition. Today, the inhouse tailoring department, with its production capabilities, is seen as the epitome of Italian craftsmanship in Men’s fashion worldwide.

Silverware, as well as jewellery accessories, are encompassed in the headquarters in Caldine, Florence. The workshop creates small masterpieces of true craftsmanship, featuring precious buckles and cufflinks crafted using repoussé and chiselling techniques.

To protect and preserve ancient artisanal know-how, the Stefano Ricci Group recently made an ulterior strategic acquisition: Moleria Locchi, a crystal workshop running for over 100 years, joins the company’s glass and crystal craftsmanship, already featured in the brand’s SR Home collection. The line, including porcelain sets made in the local artisan workshop, further enhances the concept of projecting elements of the art of the table into the future.

In 2009, the Stefano Ricci Group has acquired the Antico Setificio Fiorentino, a historic silk mill located in the heart of Florence that has been operating since 1786. The atelier still uses today 18th-century mechanical and semimechanical looms, perfectly reflecting the Stefano Ricci artisan ethos. The silk factory produces fabrics for institutions, royal households, and unique projects. The objective of this investment was to help revive a tradition at risk of disappearing.
