The Messika story, or rather, the Messika saga, began in 2005 when Valérie Messika launched her Parisian jewelry Maison. As the daughter of the renowned diamond dealer André Messika, who has been supplying the jewelers of Place Vendôme with exceptional gems since the 1970s, Valérie was immersed in the world of diamonds from an early age. A passion for gemstones and the brilliance of high jewelry took root within her, and her destiny seemed clear: she would dedicate her life to the diamond and its endless possibilities. The eternal stone has always guided her decisions, and it was this deep connection that ultimately propelled her brand into the spotlight.
Kendall Jenner. The entire world eagerly anticipates every new collection.
“A diamond is never as beautiful as when it’s in motion.”
Valérie Messika
Today, Messika dazzles across the globe, with the Maison continually surprising and captivating. Celebrities are fans of her designs—from Beyoncé to Rihanna, Nicole Kidman to Naomi Watts, and brand ambassadors like Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, and
The Move collection, with its signature bracelet, became an instant icon. The story behind the design is poetic: three diamonds, each symbolizing a different chapter of commitment—yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The diamonds slide freely within a clever setting, a moving representation of love’s eternal and everevolving nature. These three identical stones symbolize love’s constancy, gliding along the unpredictable path of life. With Move, Messika redefined the engagement diamond, giving it depth and a modern twist. It’s no longer just a token of promise; it’s a celebration of commitment—a piece for every day. Valérie Messika once said, and it’s this very idea that continues to drive the brand forward, making diamonds more dynamic, meaningful, and wearable than ever before.

JEFF GIASSON’S NEXT CHAPTER AT ACQUALINA BEGINS WITH PURPOSE AND TRANSITION. APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER AND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FIVE-STAR ACQUALINA RESORT & RESIDENCES IN MAY 2025, HE NOW TAKES ON LEADERSHIP OF ONE OF SOUTH FLORIDA’S MOST ICONIC RESORTS WHILE CONTINUING TO OVERSEE RESIDENTIAL OPERATIONS AT THE MANSIONS AT ACQUALINA. THIS DUAL ROLE REFLECTS A CAREER SHAPED BY STEADY ADVANCEMENT AND DEEP OPERATIONAL EXPERTISE IN HIGH-END HOSPITALITY ENVIRONMENTS.
By Erica Corsano
Giasson’s foundation in the industry was built through years of experience at renowned properties like the Four Seasons Resort and the St. Regis Bal Harbour. He joined The Mansions at Acqualina in 2017 and later played a pivotal role in launching The Estates — guiding it from pre-opening through to full operations. His ability to lead large, multifaceted teams while maintaining an unwavering focus on guest and resident experience, has made him a trusted figure within the Acqualina family.
Now, as he assumes full leadership of the resort, Giasson brings with him a service philosophy grounded in anticipation and intentionality. “We think ahead to provide genuine service before guests or residents even ask for it,” he explains. “We’re constantly evolving to exceed expectations.” It’s a measured, human-centered ethos that emphasizes attentiveness over spectacle.
Originally from Oklahoma, Giasson has spent the past ten years in Miami. He enjoys the city’s energy and culinary variety, and yes, the lack of cold weather. Outside of work, he finds time to swim most mornings and is considering entering a Masters competition next year. He also confesses to a fondness for romantic comedies, a detail his colleagues may not expect.
When asked to name a favorite Acqualina experience, his response is both candid and relatable: “I’ve left Il Mulino many nights with my pants barely holding onto the button.”
As he steps into his expanded leadership role, Giasson continues to champion a culture of excellence that is supported by trust, consistency, and an unwavering attention to detail. At Acqualina, where both hospitality and high design converge, his focus will remain clear: ensuring each guest interaction, no matter how small, feels meaningful, considered, and distinctly personal.
AT ACQUALINA RESORT & RESIDENCES, WHERE REFINEMENT MEETS WARMTH, CHRISTIAN GAMARRA SERVES AS MORE THAN A CONCIERGE—HE IS A COMPOSER OF SEAMLESS, DEEPLY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. ORIGINALLY FROM LIMA, PERU, GAMARRA HAS SPENT OVER A DECADE CULTIVATING THE RARE ABILITY TO ANTICIPATE NEEDS BEFORE THEY’RE EXPRESSED. WHETHER COORDINATING A DISCREET PROPOSAL OR RESTORING A GUEST’S DAY WITH SWIFT PRECISION, HE ELEVATES SERVICE TO NEW HEIGHTS—ONE ENCOUNTER, ONE THOUGHTFUL DETAIL, ONE LASTING MEMORY AT A TIME.
By Erica Corsano
What makes your role as a concierge more complex than guests might expect?
Beyond coordinating reservations, I serve as a trusted liaison for both hotel guests and residents. My responsibility begins before they arrive and continues well after departure. Every interaction is crafted to reflect the highest standards of luxury hospitality, always with care and discretion.
What’s the most intricate request you’ve handled?
Surprise marriage proposals require layered planning. From timing and setting to emotional nuance, it’s a multi-departmental effort involving security, dining, pool and beach staff, and vendors. Each detail must align flawlessly and invisibly to preserve the magic of the moment.
Where do you send guests when asked for something unforgettable?
Apart from Acqualina restaurants which are a must, I often recommend COTE Miami. This Michelin-starred restaurant blends the allure of Korean barbecue with fine dining. Located in the Design District, it offers not only exceptional cuisine and a stylish ambiance but valet parking is available through the Design District for a seamless arrival and departure experience.
What’s your daily mindset as you begin work?
I center myself with a personal mantra: Be a lighthouse of peace, tranquility, love, and joy. That intention sets the tone, and I believe it subtly shapes every conversation and interaction throughout my day.
How would you describe the atmosphere of the resort to someone arriving for the first time?
Having worked in other luxury properties, I can say this place has a rare harmony. Guests often comment on how the sense of excellence is immediate — from valet to housekeeping. It’s not just luxury; it’s a culture of sincerity and precision.
IN A PLACE WHERE EXTRAVAGANCE IS EXPECTED AND EXCELLENCE IS NON-NEGOTIABLE, NICHOLAS DEMITRY ENSURES THE EXPERIENCE MATCHES THE PROMISE. AS DIRECTOR OF RESIDENCES FOR THE SOUTH TOWER AT THE ESTATES AT ACQUALINA, DEMITRY OPERATES AT THE INTERSECTION OF SERVICE, STRUCTURE, AND SENSIBILITY. WITH A BACKGROUND STEEPED IN COMPLEX OPERATIONS AND HIGHTOUCH HOSPITALITY, HE BRINGS THOUGHTFUL LEADERSHIP TO A RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY THAT THRIVES ON INTENTION AND DETAIL — ENSURING THAT LUXURY ISN’T SIMPLY A LOOK, BUT A LIVED EXPERIENCE.
By Erica Corsano
You’ve been in South Florida since 2002. What continues to draw you to the region?
It’s the rhythm of life here — the climate, the diversity, and the culture of wellness. There’s an energy to South Florida that continues to evolve, and I’ve always appreciated how it encourages both personal and professional growth.
What is the true scope of your role as Director of Residences?
It’s multi-dimensional. I serve as the central point of coordination for everything from legal and financial matters to capital improvements and day-to-day resident concerns. It requires both strategic oversight and deep local engagement. My focus is always on solutions that serve the broader good of the community.
What aspect of the work resonates with you most?
The nuance. No two residents or situations are ever the same. I enjoy finding balanced, practical solutions that acknowledge individual needs while supporting the long-term wellbeing of the property. That dynamic keeps the work meaningful.
What, in your view, sets The Estates at Acqualina apart from other luxury properties?
Intentionality. This isn’t a collection of amenities or a series of architectural flourishes — it’s a cohesive environment designed to adapt to the rhythms of diverse residents. The thoughtfulness that went into its design and programming is rare.
Which amenity do you find most striking?
The ice skating rink. It’s an unexpected, almost surreal offering — but that’s what makes it brilliant. It speaks to the imagination behind the development. Where else can you go from oceanfront to ice without ever leaving home?
How do you view your role when you arrive each morning? I walk in with a systems mindset — attuned to what’s functioning well, what can be optimized, and where we can innovate. But I also remain aware of the resident perspective. First impressions matter, and sustaining that initial awe is part of the job, too.

AT THE MANSIONS AT ACQUALINA, WHERE OCEANFRONT GRANDEUR MEETS BESPOKE GRACE, RESIDENCE MANAGER VIKTORIIA SMIRNOVA IS A QUIET FORCE BEHIND THE SEAMLESS EXPERIENCE RESIDENTS ENJOY EACH DAY. ORIGINALLY FROM UKRAINE AND NOW AN INTEGRAL PART OF MIAMI’S LUXURY LANDSCAPE, SMIRNOVA LEADS WITH EMPATHY, ATTENTION, AND WARMTH. HER APPROACH TO HOSPITALITY BLENDS PRECISION WITH CARE—ENSURING NOT ONLY THAT EVERY DETAIL IS TENDED TO, BUT THAT EACH RESIDENT FEELS RIGHT AT HOME IN AN EXTRAORDINARY SETTING.
By Erica Corsano
What does your role as Residence Manager involve on a day-today level?
My focus is ensuring our residents feel cared for and at ease. I oversee daily operations, support our exceptional team, and work to resolve needs before they even arise. The goal is to create a home that feels both luxurious and genuinely warm.
What do you love most about your work?
The people. Building relationships with residents and colleagues alike brings me joy. Celebrating milestones, sharing conversations, or just making someone’s day smoother — it all makes this more than a job. I’m proud to be someone my team can rely on and trust.
How would you describe The Mansions experience in three words?
Luxurious, welcoming, and personalized. Every aspect — from design to service — is tailored to elevate daily life while still feeling intimate and lived-in. It’s that rare combination that sets the tone for everything we do.
What exclusive amenities truly define life at The Mansions?
Our private cinema, wine and drawing rooms, ocean-view pool, weekend juice bar, and dedicated resident-only restaurant are just a few examples. It’s more than luxury! It’s curated comfort, designed to anticipate needs and exceed expectations.
What do you think sets The Mansions apart from other residences in the area?
It’s not just the architecture or amenities, it’s the heart. There’s a real sincerity in how we care for each resident. The building is exquisite, but it’s the lived experience — the warmth, the attention — that makes it extraordinary.

At Acqualina Resort, there are many reasons to be an early bird. Stunning accommodations and soaring oceanfront views from every room may make you never want to leave your room — but breakfast will have you ready to rise and shine.
Breakfast is an event at Acqualina. Served daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the main dining room, the plentiful spread includes everything from classic egg dishes and pancakes to smaller bites like fresh local fruit and delectable pastries and breads from the acclaimed Zak the Baker.
Customizable stations are the hallmark of Acqualina’s breakfast buffet, ensuring you can start your day however you please. Guests can dream up a made-to-order omelet or choose from a range of sweet options hot off the griddle like pancakes, French toast, and waffles.
The rest of the buffet is stocked with all the morning fuel you could ever need like bagels, cereal, yogurt. Plus, there’s applewood-smoked bacon, breakfast sausage, and roasted fingerling potatoes on the savory side.
Those who want to kick off the day on a healthy note have options too. The buffet is equipped with several freshpressed juices in flavors like classic orange or a cleansing juice with cucumber, celery, kale, apple, and ginger. Açaí bowls, chia seed pudding, egg white dishes, and oatmeal with toppings like fruit, raisins, and brown sugar round out the mindful options.
The staff is also fully equipped to handle all your caffeine cravings, from tea to fair trade coffee and espresso drinks. But while in paradise, why not clink your glasses to a sunny start to the day? If you’re looking for a brunch cocktail, add on a glass of Champagne or go classic with a mimosa, bloody mary, or tequila sunrise.
Guests, residents, and locals are all invited to enjoy breakfast at Acqualina Resort, either in the main dining room or alfresco on the terrace overlooking the pool and manicured gardens. No matter where you choose, you’ll never wake up on the wrong side of the bed knowing Acqualina’s luxurious breakfast options are just downstairs.

When Acqualina set out to reimagine Ke-Grap, its acclaimed Japanese fusion restaurant, the goal was to match the artistry of its cuisine with an equally refined setting. For this, they turned to Italian designer Cristiano Gatto — renowned for his elegant, human-centered interiors across luxury yachts, residences, and hospitality spaces.
The result is a serene yet striking environment that shifts effortlessly from daytime light to evening intimacy. With bold design gestures like Acqualina-red drapery and a central bonsai tree symbolizing balance, the space now tells a richer, more layered story—one where every texture and material has meaning.
In this exclusive Q&A, Gatto shares the philosophy, cultural influences, and personal touches behind the transformation of Ke-uH.
What was your initial creative vision for Ke-uH, and how did the restaurant’s location at Acqualina shape your approach?
The space already had a defined architecture, but over time, decorative elements had diluted its essence. My first move was one of subtraction — stripping away excess to restore clarity and formal purity. From there, I introduced features like longitudinal red drapery, which draws directly from Acqualina’s brand identity and weaves the exterior landscape into the interior.
Ke-uH offers a Japanese fusion menu in a distinctly Mediterranean setting. How did you translate that into the design?
I envisioned a soft, lounge-like space with a color palette of black, white, and red — tones that speak to Mediterranean warmth. At the same time, I layered in blackened brass and other details inspired by Japanese and broader Oriental design languages. It’s a gentle blending of two aesthetics, each enhancing the other.
You’re known for designing yachts and residences. How did this project differ—and what felt familiar?
The familiar element was the human-centered approach — making guests feel comfortable. What differed was the scale. This wasn’t a private space but one meant for a broader community, so it required a more open rhythm that still maintained intimacy.
Is there a particular material or detail you’re especially connected to?
I’m drawn to the layering of materials. For example, the black lacquered brass corner lounge tables and the way pendant lights intersect with the drapery. These moments of overlap add narrative depth to the space.
How do you define elegance in a dining space today?
Elegance lies in simplicity, proportion, and harmony. It’s about honest materials, balanced forms, and intuitive comfort.
Acqualina’s aesthetic is both refined and relaxed. How did you balance those ideas?
That balance is very natural for me. My Italian sensibility and experience in yacht design informed this fusion of ease and refinement. I wanted the space to feel fluid — elegant but never rigid.
Were there specific artistic or cultural influences behind this project?
Not one in particular. My work is always shaped by past experiences, memories, and emotions. It’s more about a quiet convergence of influences rather than a single reference point.
What’s your favorite time of day to experience Ke-uH?
I love the vibrancy of the morning and the contemplative quiet of the evening. Each moment reveals a different mood and nuance of the space.
What do you hope guests feel when they step into Ke-uH?
I hope they feel embraced by an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and welcoming — where every detail, material, and gesture speaks of comfort and care.
From the handcrafted sauces to the layered textures of the space itself, Ke-uH now fully reflects Acqualina’s commitment to immersive, sensory experiences. Open nightly for dinner and cocktails, it’s not just a place to dine — it’s a destination to savor design, culture, and culinary artistry, all under one roof.
Reserve your table and experience the new Ke-uH for yourself.

The latest art additions at Acqualina are worth a second glance, going beyond the frame to reimagine what resort art can be.
By Jenny Starr Perez
Some hotels are decorated with art. At Acqualina Resort & Residences, art lives in every space it is featured, an essential element of the experience rather than an afterthought. Recently, Acqualina has further elevated its visual language with two dynamic additions: a bespoke installation by renowned artist-designer Alex Turco and three masterful prints by celebrated photographer Peter Lik.
The artful journey begins with Turco’s stunning panels, which now define the concierge space with an ethereal presence. Originally imagined as a series of palm leaf motifs, the design evolved under Turco’s meticulous eye. Collaborating closely with STA Architectural Group, Turco refined the coloration to a more sophisticated palette and incorporated his signature bubbletextured epoxy resin. The result? An immersive surface that captures the shimmering beauty of a dewy tropical morning — one that changes with the light and invites tactile curiosity.
“Texture is vital,” says Turco. “I want people to see that this is not a machine-made surface. It’s handcrafted, made to interact with the space and the viewer.” His method — applying layers of resin and manipulating color through detailed handwork — results in pieces that bridge the divide between art and architecture. The panels transform the energy of the space, offering a subtle, living vibrancy that enhances the guest experience.
Acqualina’s commitment to curating extraordinary art continues just steps away, where three limited-edition prints by Peter Lik from Lik Fine Art now grace the lobby area near Ke-uH restaurant. Lik, a renowned landscape photographer, is known for his emotive images of nature’s grandeur, capturing light, texture, and scale. Each piece selected for Acqualina captures his signature ability to transport the viewer into the scene itself, whether through the serenity of a misted canyon or the rich, fiery glow of a desert sunset.
Peter Lik’s journey to fine art stardom began early — with a Kodak Brownie camera gifted to him at age eight. Decades later, he would break records for the most expensive photograph ever sold (“Phantom” at $6.5 million) and become one of the highest-selling fine art photographers in history. His work feels right at home within Acqualina’s walls, where luxury and nature coexist in perfect balance.
In a setting where every detail is a thoughtful expression of beauty and hospitality, the addition of Turco and Lik’s works is a natural progression. Together, their artful contributions enhance not only the spaces they occupy but also the way guests feel when moving through them: connected to something greater, inspired to pause, and reminded of the quiet, powerful joy of seeing beauty everywhere.
A little indulgence never hurt anybody, and for Acqualina guests, a visit to the resort’s luxurious spa is a must-book experience.
By Jenny Starr Perez
In a place where ocean waves set the day’s rhythm and the scent of saltwater lingers in the air, Acqualina Spa offers something even the Atlantic can’t: pure, unfiltered serenity. Step beyond the marble corridors of Acqualina Resort & Residences and you’ll find a sanctuary that invites you to stop, exhale and — most importantly — indulge. If you’re staying here and miss the spa, did you really stay at all?
Acqualina Spa, a two-story, 20,000-square-foot retreat, is practically a rite of passage. It blends ancient traditions of holistic wellness with the latest in luxury pampering, offering a lush variety of heat and wet experiences, including Himalayan salt saunas, crystal steam rooms, and experience showers that mist or rain upon command. Even before your treatment begins, your senses are gently coaxed into a state of bliss.
Among the highlights is the spa’s outdoor terrace, a glamorous expanse complete with a heated jet pool and Roman waterfall. Framed by palms and ocean views, the terrace is ideal for those seeking to extend the glow of their spa treatment with a swim under the sun. It’s also the perfect backdrop for a mindful pause — or a few poolside selfies that will make your friends wildly jealous.
But the real magic happens inside the treatment rooms, where a menu of experiences awaits. The newest star of the lineup? The Reviving Massage for Hands and Feet — a tribute to the body parts we so often take for granted. This 50-minute therapy focuses on melting tension away through a warm paraffin hand treatment, percussion therapy for the feet using the Hypervolt device, and a decadent drizzle of Seed to Skin Tuscany’s massage candle oil, famed for its nourishing botanicals.
For guests who understand that true luxury is a matter of time well spent, the spa now offers an extended version: an 80-minute Reviving Massage that adds a paraffin foot treatment
and a scalp, neck and shoulder massage. Think of it as an encore performance for your body — the kind you’ll be thinking about long after check-out.
Naturally, the experience doesn’t end when the massage does. Guests are encouraged to linger in the relaxation lounges, sip herbal teas and nibble on light snacks while wrapped in the softest robes imaginable. Those who opt for a true wellness journey can weave in time spent in the aromatherapy crystal steam room or recharge amid the Himalayan salt walls of the sauna. Every corner of Acqualina Spa feels like it was designed for lingering.
The wellness programming finds even the most seasoned spa-goers delightfully surprised. Whether you choose to luxuriate for an afternoon or spend an entire day soaking in its offerings, a visit to Acqualina Spa is an essential part of the resort experience. Skipping it would be like visiting Italy and forgetting the wine.
The Ballroom
By Erica Corsano
The spaces are designed to accommodate diverse business needs while maintaining a consistent level of discretion, luxury, and service.
— Events Manager, Jessica Roldan
In a city known for its pulse and pace, Acqualina Resort & Residences offers an alternative rhythm — one where the boardroom shares a horizon with the Atlantic, and the ballroom is infused with both grandeur and light. This year, the ultra-luxurious oceanfront property unveiled newly reimagined event spaces, ushering in a new era of power meetings and highlevel gatherings.
The newly enhanced boardroom and ballroom are located on the Mezzanine level of the property. Designed by Miami’s renowned STA Architectural Group, the aesthetic blends Mediterranean refinement with contemporary finishings, matching much of the look and feel of the entire resort. The result? A compelling new destination for high-powered decision-makers to convene, create, and close deals.
“The boardroom exudes an airy and inviting feel,” says Events Manager Jessica Roldan. “It balances professionalism with comfort, making it ideal for strategic planning, executive collaborations, and even private business dinners.” Outfitted with high-speed internet, high-resolution displays, and full video conferencing capabilities, the space is as technologically advanced as it is visually pleasing. But it’s the balance of functionality and serenity that makes it a standout. “We’ve designed the space to channel the oceanfront views as a source of inspiration — not distraction.”
While technology fuels the boardroom’s performance, the new ballroom embodies Acqualina’s signature elegance. Creating the perfect backdrop to host up to 100 guests, the new ballroom features bespoke rug inserts laid atop large-format marble tile, a warm white and champagne palette trimmed in bronze, and
sophisticated furnishings that are perfectly suited for celebratory affairs and professional occasions alike. “Timeless, modern, and sophisticated,” Roldan summarizes. “It’s a versatile canvas that can host a gala or a global summit. ”Adjoining the ballroom is a terrace that opens to sweeping views of the ocean, grounding the space in natural grandeur.
Beyond its architectural delicacy, the resort offers a holistic approach to wellness-driven productivity. “We believe in supporting wellbeing at every touchpoint,” Roldan explains. That philosophy translates into thoughtful offerings like fresh-pressed juices, fruit platters, and curated menus featuring clean, nutrient-rich options. For active interludes between meetings, guests can arrange yoga and stretching sessions on the beach — moments of pause that serve not as a break from business, but as a catalyst for clarity.
The flexibility of Acqualina’s spaces is matched by their appeal to a broad range of industries. “We welcome everything from finance to fashion,” Roldan says. “The spaces are designed to accommodate diverse business needs while maintaining a consistent level of discretion, luxury, and service.”
And while the aesthetic detail is meticulous, the true success of these event spaces lies in their energy — calm but focused, polished yet personal. Whether in a confidential board strategy session or a product launch reception, the setting works as a silent partner: empowering dialogue, sharpening ideas, and reinforcing the sense that something important is taking place.
For the executive who has outgrown generic venues, Acqualina offers not only a new setting, but a new standard for power meetings.
The Acqualina Trump family and South Florida philanthropists uplifted the community with an enchanting evening benefiting the “I Have a Dream” Foundation.
By Tracy Block
Stephanie, Jules, and Eddie Trump hosted an unforgettable affair at the 29th Annual “I Have a Dream” Foundation Miami Gala. The unmatched generosity of 650 philanthropists in attendance raised more than $850,000 for the Miami-Dade chapter of the Foundation, which the Trump family founded in 1995. The funds raised will unlock higher-education opportunities for the class of 2032’s Miami Dreamers, which includes 55 Dreamers in the 5th grade from low-income communities.
The evening sparkled with a silent auction featuring 50 grandiose prizes, including luxurious hotel stays paired with decadent dining experiences and award-winning spa packages at prestigious destinations like Rosewood Baha Mar, The Pierre Hotel New York, Montage Laguna Beach, and The White Elephant Nantucket. Next, Jay Rokeach enticed guests with an energetic live auction offering three dream getaways, including an Italian escape to Rome, the Amalfi Coast, and Sorrento; an African adventure through Zimbabwe, Kruger National Park, Johannesburg, and Cape Town; and a French holiday to Paris and Monte Carlo.
Throughout the night, several Miami Dreamers alumni captivated the room. Class of 2005 Dreamer Whitney Drake delivered a magical serenade; class of 2020 Dreamer Badr Mehdad shared his heartfelt experience and gratitude for the program; and the class of 2032 performed a mesmerizing dance accompanied by a live orchestra ensemble.
Founder Stephanie Trump gave an inspiring address thanking the Foundation’s longtime Executive Director, Jonas Severe, and Project Director, Nicole Taylor, acknowledging their pivotal role in the program’s continued success. Guests enjoyed a delectable four-course feast, danced the night away, and were treated to a dazzling light show.
Plans are already underway for the milestone 30th anniversary of the spectacular gala to be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at The Turnberry Resort. For more information, visit dreammiami.org.
