Another busy month is going so quickly – the Club was so lucky to get a fine day for the Clutha Rally as often has happened over the years, the sun shines and we all have a great day together. Robin and Gary pass on their thanks to all who came along to enjoy the day, those who helped in any way, the ladies in the kitchen and all who provided food to keep us nourished. 65 entrants. Short and Long Routes took us to the Sinclair Wetlands for the lunch stop with just enough room to park up and learn about this area.
12 vehicles and 25 people took the opportunity to enjoy a run to Lochindorb via Puerua. Unfortunately Peter Dawson’s Hillman Hunter didn’t like the new parts it was treated to and caused some problems. Thank goodness he had the originals in the boot, replaced them and all good to go again. Peter tried the new parts again for the Rally but the car still didn’t like them. The woes of motoring. Taieri Tour - 3 South Otago vehicles took part in the Rally, Cooks, McCall’s and McDonald’s enjoyed the day motoring with friends. Tuapeka Vintage Club Heritage Day - Despite the rainy day the events organised were able to continue and many people came along to see the workings of vintage machinery, gold panning, sheep shearing, grain grinding for flour, spinning and handcrafts to view. West Otago Show Robin & Margaret McCall went to the Show in Tapanui last Saturday and report a great day out with beaut sunshine.
