ON THE COVER: Just some of the collection at Jim Bakers, enjoyed by members on our Mid- Week Run. The start of the Waitara Christmas Parade
Hello Folks,
Time seems to be getting faster and faster as we are now into December with Christmas holidays just around the corner.
So on behalf of the Committee I wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and New Year holiday period with family and friends. If this period of weather continues with sun and light breezes we will be in for a great time to be out and about in your vehicles and enjoying the drive.
We warmly welcome another new Member Brian Murphy who has a 1938 BSA B21 Motor Cycle which is under restoration.
We had a very good turnout in support of the Christmas Parades in New Plymouth, Bell Block, Waitara and Inglewood. At time of writing this report I have not heard about the Stratford and Hawera and other towns that parades have been held. This type of support from members really adds to our Clubs name being pushed out into the public eye and are prepared to support our communities.
1. So, a big thank you to all members who drove their vehicles in the Christmas parades. You did us all proud.
14 Vehicles took part in the Xmas Run that started in Stratford and ended at the clubrooms for a shared lunch. The run was organised by Club Captain Brian and helped by Rob and Helen Stenning and family. Brian was not able to attend as he was attending a funeral in England for his younger brother and on behalf of the Club Brian and Julie we extend our deepest sympathy. Rob and Helen Stenning helped and organised the start and finish of the interesting run with questions to answer. The winner was Greg and Denise Carter. Congratulations.
Brian Morris who has been our Midweek Run coordinator has advised that he is stepping down from this role. Thank you, Brian, for organising many very interesting runs for club members over the past years. Any member that would like to take on this role please contact any committee member
As Christmas is just around the corner our last Noggin and Natter club night for this year will start with a Club BBQ from 5.30pm on wards for those who wish to attend and bring their own meat salad etc and the club will provide potatoes and onions. Our BBQ will be operating.
You are most welcome to bring your own drinks if you wish to attend The Xmas Noggin and natter commencing at the usual time and we will still have our supper and cuppa.
So, Keep the Passion.......... Santa is on his way......... Keep Safe out on the roads..... Keep to the left.... Merry Christmas everyone. Cheers
Chairman Colin.

Hi All,
Hope everyone is doing well!
This year’s Xmas run is on Sunday 14Th December.
Starting from the Baking Company on Regan Street, Stratford, (turn right at the first roundabout on Broadway from Inglewood) at 11:00 with first car away at 11:30.
Unfortunately, due to a family bereavement Julie and I will not be able to attend. So, a big thanks to Rob and Helen Stening who have offered to stand in and run the event for us.
This year’s run is going to be little bit different to the normal runs so hopefully everyone will enjoy it.
Run will finish back at the clubrooms for a shared lunch so please bring a plate to share.
December Guest Speaker
No guest speaker this month, instead we will be having our annual BBQ at the clubrooms. Bring your meat to be cooked on the BBQ and a sharing plate.
Hopefully, everyone enjoys the evening and the weather is kind to us!

A good collection of members assembled at the Normanby sports ground where we were briefed by Bryan about the days run.
At 1.30, with Byan leading the way we left for our destination on SH45, Surf Highway. Just a short distance from the Hawera town boundary we arrive at Jim Bakers, where we were greeted by Jim. Then followed an interesting viewing of Jim’s collection of Memorabilia which has been built up by him over his lifetime. This included a roadworthy 1926 Jordan, 1904 Darracq, a restored Land Rover, a restored WW II Military Scout Car and a WW II Bren gun carrier under restoration.
As well as these gems, the rather large shed was filled with all sorts of collectibles ranging from farm implements to household items from a bygone era
After more than an hour and a rundown from Jim on some of the local history and his family’s connections to the area, it was time to wet our whistles and so we climbed up to the fully furnished upstairs mezzanine floor to enjoy a most welcome cuppa and more tales of Jims collection. A most enthralling afternoon, thank you Bryan for arranging a most interesting afternoon. I am continually amazed at what lies in some of the remote corners of our district, and long may we be able to explore them when they popup on our radar.

Hi Folks, well, here it is nearly the end of another year. Congratulations to all who have made it but also remembering those who are no longer with us. I hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas, look forward to seeing you in 2026. You will see a notice on the back cover advertising the Extravaganza to be held in Hawera in February. I will be sending an email out early next year with more information you might need to provide if you are intending to attend with your vintage or other club eligible vehicles. Jim Logan
That any members are welcome to visit our parts shed by contacting a committee member to organise a suitable time for a visit. There is a wealth of parts within and there is not always time on Club night to rummage through them all. The results of the membership survey that was conducted recently are now available to view at the clubrooms, see Brian Evans.
