FENTON COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL FENTON ALUMNI WALL OF FAME RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED Fenton High School is proud to announce the 2015 inductees into the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Fame. A committee consisting of school staff, community members, retirees and students selected the following Fenton alumni: TERRY BIEFELD | Class of 1958 U Aerospace Engineer U B.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Masters in Aerospace Engineering from University of South California U Worked for Douglas Aircraft Company (AKA McDonnell Douglas, Boeing and Unite Launch Alliance) for 47 years U Focused much of his career on the Delta Launch Vehicle which first flew in 1960 and is still launching satellites today. U Accomplishments include launch of all GPS satellites, communicates satellites and weather satellites. | Trains and mentors young engineers to carry forward. | Married to a Fenton graduate, raised a family of eight children

CHARLES SCHLIE | Class of 1984 U Pastor/Missionary/Humanitarian U B.A. in Elementary Education M.A. in School Administration from Concordia University, Chicago M.A. in Religion from Concordia University U Currently pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church, Weldon Springs, Missouri U Helped homeless in Guatemala, facilitated construction of church in Russia, assists the under-privileged in Poland, founded The Hearts and Hope for Uganda Orphanage and started a school and church in Nakabango U Helped thousands of Ugandan people through the non-profit coffee company, Three Avocados, which he and his colleagues founded for the purpose of building wells and providing clean water to impoverished villages.

A dinner to celebrate the honorees will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 6 pm at White Pines Golf Club and Banquets located at 500 W. Jefferson Street, Bensenville. Community members who would like to attend the dinner can contact Sandy Hawbaker at 630-860-6258 by March 12. The cost to attend is $40. The evening will include music by the Fenton Jazz Ensemble, a plated dinner and presentations from Terry Biefeld, Matt Lloyd and Charles Schlie. The Fenton Alumni Wall of Fame was established in 1995 by the District 100 Board of Education and honors the achievements and contributions of the school’s most outstanding alumni.

Garden Club Scholarship Opportunity The Garden Club of Bensenville is looking to award a $500.00 scholarship to any Bensenville or surrounding community resident pursuing studies in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Landscape Design. Anyone seeking a career in any of these related fields is asked to submit a letter of intent describing their primary area of interest and specify the kind of degree or accreditation they wish to earn.
