According to their contract, the teacher’s can legally work 8 hours per day which does give them a little bit of non instructional time but each district, school and teacher is translating the directives differently. The June 26th assembly will look different this year, but the Grade 5’s will still be honoured. The 2014/2015 school year begins on Tuesday, September 2nd with new learning support, a new Principal and a new grade 1 teacher (Ms. Solecki transferred to Southpark) This year there is an excess of teachers with high seniority flooding the system and therefore many lower seniority teachers will be laid off to make positions available for them. At our school, Mr. DiCicco and Ms. Monahan will be laid off. New tech packs have been installed in classrooms and all sorts of renovations are being completed around the school. The new mural will be centered between the pillars in September. Thankful to the PAC for all of their support this year. 5. Executive Reports a. President’s Report None

(5 min)

b. Treasurer’s Report (5 min) Google document will be updated once final account balances are in...stay tuned! (Hopefully by the end of the month) Action item: CM to check if the finger labyrinth honorarium can come out of gaming funds because all students will benefit from them. If not, $40 will be taken out of our general account to reimburse Aaren. c. VCPAC Report (5 min) Amy and Mercedes attended A few important motions were voted on including whether or not teachers should be periodically recertified (our district voted against) Our Principal, Jana Dick received the School Partnership Award and Nicole Stead (Kindergarten teacher) was nominated for the Parent’s Choice Award.
