Students often struggle with networking between specialities to collaborate on their projects. In many cases, it is important to find someone to help when working on their exams. For example for fashion students when doing their final BA projects. They need help with many different things from cutting the material, through modelling, to having their pieces photographed.

But it is not always easy to find people who can and are willing to help. There needs to be a safe space where students can look for people to work with, develop new ideas, share their projects and make new connections. And that´s why we started CONNECTLY

At these two workshops, we will explore how we can utilize the creative community as a universal relationship-strengthening language.

På disse to workshops vil vi udforske hvordan vi kan udnytte det kreative fællesskab som et universielt relations styrkende sprog

Alexandra is a Fashion Design Student at VIA University Campus Herning. And a brilliant example of the great talent pool we have. It is not unusual for students to share their knowledge in the form of workshops in our Student Incubator.

The Creative Language

The creative language is universal and therefore holds huge potential, also when we have to find our role as global citizens.

We have more and more shared responsibility for the global community. One of the roles is to create communities. Today we will explore how we can utilize the creative community as a universal community language.

Det kreative sprog er universielt og rummer derfor et kæmpe potentiale, også når vi skal finde vores rolle som verdensborger.

Vi har mere og mere et medansvar for det globale fællesskab. Én af rollerne er at skabe fællesskaber. I dag vil vi udforske hvordan vi kan udnytte det kreative fællesskab som et universielt fællesskabs-sprog.

Når vi arbejder med vores emotionelle intelligens, opbygger vi en helt særlig kapacitet i forhold til vores væren i verden.

Vi får både en bedre forståelse for os selv og for andre, vi får bedre relationer med vores familie, venner, kollegaer og vi får bedre forudsætninger for at løse både praktiske problemer og forebygge konflikter.

I gennem to workshops vil vi arbejde med vores emotionelle styrker og udfordringer, og øve os i, hvordan vi kommunikerer – også når det er svært.

When we work with our emotional intelligence we improve our way of being. Not only will we gain a better understanding of our selves and others. We will also enhance our relation to family, friends, colleagues. Furthermore, we will see that our ability to solve practical problems as well as interpersonal conflicts will get better.

Hvordan sikrer du dig på et tidligt stadie at din forretningsidé reelt set er unik nok til at undgå “The Red Ocean”. Det blodige hav af similare konkurrenter, hvor det eneste konkurrence parameter er pris og hastighed.

In The Garage Building B

We will meet for an intro in Garage Building B. Afterwards, the Workshop will take place in the textile workshop in B. We will make 3 different colours and everyone will have the opportunity to dye both cotton and silk which can then be used for a tea towel or a scarf.

Vi mødes til intro i Garagen Bygning B. Herfter foregår Workshoppen i tekstilværkstedet i B. Vi vil lave 3 forskellige farver og alle får mulighed for at farve både bomuld og silke som efterfølgende kan bruges til et viskestykke eller et tørklæde.

Hvis du har skaller af rødløg, avokadoer eller valnødder, så medbring dem gerne.

If you have skins of red onions, avocados or walnuts, please bring them along.

Become an SDG-ambassador!

A competency course where you attain knowledge on the sustainability development goals and how to act on what you think is most important.

As an SDG-ambassador you will get:

• A unique addition to your CV for job applications in the future

• Knowledge about the UN’s 17 sustainability development goals and ways in which your profession fits into that perspective

• Inspiration from people who are passionate about creating change in the world

• Socializing with other students across the educations of VIA

• The opportunity to act on what you believe in, no matter if it is inequality in health, climate changes, equality between sex or something entirely different.

• Access to an interdisciplinary network of students and graduates with the same interests

About the course

The competency course stretches across two semesters and consists of five workshops, one boot camp with a sleepover and participation at a one-day-festival. Students from all VIA’s programmes in Herning can apply. The course runs in parallel at other VIA campuses In between the workshops it is expected that you spend a few hours of preparation, which can consist of working with your own project.

• Viden om FNs 17 verdensmål og relevansen for netop din profession.

• Inspiration fra mennesker, der er passionerede omkring at skabe forandringer i verden.

• Socialt sammenhold med andre studerende på tværs af VIAs uddannelser.

• Mulighed for at handle på det, du brænder for, uanset om det er bæredygtig produktion, ligestilling mellem kønnene, klimaforandringer eller noget helt fjerde.

• Adgang til et tværfagligt netværk af studerende og dimittender, der deler dine interesser.

Om forløbet

Kompetenceforløbet strækker sig over to semestre og består af fem workshops, et internat med overnatning og deltagelse på en endagsfestival Studerende fra alle VIAs uddannelser i Herning kan ansøge. Forløbet kører også parallelt på VIAs øvrige campusser. Mellem workshopsene forventes det, at du bruger et par timer på forberedelse, hvilket blandt andet kan bestå af arbejde med dit eget selvvalgte projekt.
