This spring, we are focusing on one of our values: ”Going Beyond”. If you’ve ever felt like you’re an Outlier, someone who doesn’t quite fit the normal, then we’re talking about you! We believe that Outliers in particular have a very special potential.

We put that and much more into words in workshops with themes such as: Start For Future, Photo Skills, Crowdsourcing, Emotional Intelligence, Sustainability Studio and Brand Personality.

Throughout history, some individuals have performed extraordinary feats. They have gone against the mainstream, followed their dreams and changed the world. Many of those people have had a hard or lonely start. They have felt different, misunderstood or left out. The Outliers.

Maybe you are one of them. At VIA Campus Herning, we attract a majority of young students who are not like most. We take pride in that, but are also aware that it is not always easy to be you!

At this workshop, you will hopefully become a little more familiar with your personality, your attitude, your dreams and your potential as an Outlier.

We also take a look at real-life Outliers. What they have achieved through hard and determined work. And left a mark on the world around them, some even for several generations. You will be surprised by the potential of Outliers.

What are researchers in design and business actually doing – and how do they conduct research into sustainability? This event is an introduction to the new Research Lab at Herning Campus. It’s an outstand­ing opportunity to get inspiration for your projects and insight into research. There will be an opportunity to participate in a research experiment.

Hvad laver forskere i design og business egentlig – og hvordan forsker de i bæredygtighed? Dette event er en introduktion til det nye Research Lab.

2: Textile Lab

11/4 at 3 pm to 6 pm We’ll introduce you to the latest material development and we’ll turn on the spinning mill and spin some yarn from recycled and virgin fibers.

Vi vil introducere dig til den seneste materialeudvikling og vi spinder også noget garn fra både genbrugsfibre og nye fibre.

3: Bio-leather workshop 16/5 at 3 pm to 6 pm

This is a hand-on workshop, and you are invited to produce bioleather. In fact, this is very simple, and after this workshop you’ll be able to make your own material experiments.

At this workshop you can learn more about how McDonald’s develop the exact burger you want to eat. How LEGO keeps producing new products that people want to buy or how Starbucks makes sure they serve the right coffee flavors?

They all turned to crowdsourcing and so can you. Get tips and tricks on how to work collectively to develop a business idea by combining both technology and the human mind.

I denne workshop kan du lære mere om, hvordan McDonald’s udvikler netop den burger, som du gerne vil spise. When we work with our emotional intelligence we improve our way of being. Not only will we gain a better understanding of ourselves and others. We will also enhance our relation to family, friends, colleagues. Furthermore, we will see that our ability to solve practical problems as well as interpersonal conflicts will get better.

Start For Future

SFF

Start for Future is a co-developed programme initiated by European Universities, and reinforced by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and it’s KICs in Urban Mobility and Manufacturing.

The programme aims to link emerging startups with the resources of SFF and its extensive network of industry partners. It focuses on addressing UN SDGs and integrating them with highly impactful, profitable, and scalable business models.

In the Match & Start programme, early-stage startups collaborate on refining their concepts and creating prototypes. Throughout this process, participants receive input and engage in feedback sessions facilitated by industry experts, business coaches, success– ful startups and SFF partners. The business concepts generated by these startups are then paired with the most fitting incubators within the partner network.

Herning Soup C-cube x VIA x House No7

Herning Soup is a platform for local ideators to share their passions, seek assistance, and build connections with like-minded individuals, while also nurturing a learning environment by offering training and guidance within project making. All of this happens in a simple, cosy dinner setting, where locals meet to listen to these inspiring projects and vote for one of them to be given collected funds from selling the soup.

Herning Soup er en platform for lokale opfindere til at dele deres passioner, søge hjælp og skabe forbindelser med ligesindede.

Alt dette sker i et hyggeligt middagsmiljø, hvor vi mødes for at lytte til inspirerende projekter og stemme på, hvilket af projekterne, der skal have de indsamlede midler fra salget af suppen.

Two crowdfunding dinners were hosted at House No7, marking the beginning of a successful journey. The inclusive atmosphere of Herning Soup attracted a diverse crowd, including project-makers, students, adventurers, and individuals driven by curiosity.

The events facilitated meaningful interactions and collaboration among participants!

This semester, we are ready for more Soup! We aim to involve even more ambitious project-makers, help them connect with each other and learn together! Do you have a project yourself? It might be a dream, an idea or even just an interest. Herning Soup is here to guide you through the process of putting yourself out there, getting recognised and gaining connections. The upcoming chapter of Herning Soup promises enriching experiences that will continue to shape the cultural landscape of Herning.

Photo studio Building D

To book, send request on mail garage@via.dk Its possible to book only by showing and attaching the photo studio license when applying.

It is not allowed to bring food to the photo studio.

It is not allowed to wear shoes on photo backgrounds.

Leave everything neatly in place and turn off equipment and photo lights.

Use scissors if backgrounds are cut.

If something is damaged or missing after a loan, you’ll need to report to us or you’ll be required to pay for compensation.
