Ring in the New Year at the Post

Join us in the large hall on New Years Eve for dinner, dancing and New Years Eve festivities. Denney and the Jets will be providing the music. The event will include a 50/50 and a drawing for an Apple iPad. Dinner is included in your ticket price of just $20 per person/$40 per couple. Tickets are available in the Canteen. Raffle tickets for the Apple iPad Pro 9.7 (white with wi-fi gold) are $10 for five chances. You can buy those at the Canteen as well and everyone, including club outsiders, are eligible to purchase tickets.

It’s Nice and Cool Outside - Let’s Finish Painting! The weather has cooled off and hopefully all the rain and hurricanes are gone. It is time to think about completing the painting of the building. The rear of the building needs to be pressure washed and then painted. One of our members has volunteered to pressure wash the building so that task is under control at this time. Home Depot has again come to our rescue. They are donating 10 gallons of paint to finish the project. Now we just have to pick a date. The remaining part of the building to be painted is not

that high off the ground and we certainly would appreciate your help. I have to say that I pretty much wore out the volunteers because, as you know, it always ends up being the same people. Would you please look deep within your heart and see if you could offer to spend about three hours with us on a Saturday, date yet to be determined, and finish painting the building? I would so appreciate your help and I know our Commander would be thrilled with your efforts. More to come...Doris

Annual Children’s Christmas Party The Auxiliary's annual Children’s Christmas party will be held on Saturday, December 17th at 11:00 AM. Children 10 and younger are eligible to participate. A pizza lunch is included along with train rides by Leon and a guest appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus! Sign children up in the Canteen by December 12th.

Donated to the Post by friends of Shelley and Martin, this handmade flag will be raffled off for Veterans Day. Get 15 tickets for just $5!

Our military men and women are never far from our thoughts. We remember them and their loved ones throughout the year, but never with more appreciation for their sacrifice than during the holiday season when duty separates them from family and friends. Let’s be sure to include all who have served — past and present — as we celebrate Thanksgiving. Until they all come home.

Russell Carpenter Go Army!

Chaplain’s Corner Thought for the day! While we are postponing, life speeds by! Another month of praises! We have lost no members since last newsletter. May this continue. The upcoming elections are up on us in a few short days. When you go to the polls remember to vote for the person who will get our country (AMERICA) back to where it should be. Make your vote count because every vote does count. Continue to pray for our service men and women where ever they may be serving far from their families. God speed them safely home. Continue to pray daily for the policemen and firemen that go out daily and risk their lives to keep us protected.

If you know of any member that is either in the hospital or has gone to their heavenly home, please let me know. My home number is 407629-5808 or you can call the canteen at 407296-2502 they will notify me. Continued prayers for our post and the leadership. May the decisions made be for the betterment of all of us. Step up and help to get things done. We have one of the nicer looking posts in the area here on the lake, but it takes continued work to keep it looking nice. Sam Ramsey Post 2093 Chaplain Lifetime Member

From the Auxiliary President’s Desk Greetings to all! With the holidays, just around the corner the Auxiliary is in full swing with many activities going on supporting our vets. Veterans Day week, November 8 & 9 at Lake Baldwin and Lake Nona, we will be handing out thank you cards, flowers and stuffed animals to honor our veterans. On December 3rd, we will have a Christmas party at the Community Living Center (CLC) for the patients. We will be doing snacks with them, singing Christmas carols and handing out Christmas cards and ornaments to hang on their doors. On December 5th, for the Domiciliary, there will be a pizza party and trivia. On December 15th, at Ft. McCoy, we will be doing a luncheon along with singing Christmas carols. Help is needed at each of these functions. Please see me if you'd like to be a part of any of this. Thanks to all involved in making our breast cancer fundraiser a huge success. The spaghetti dinner was enjoyed by all along with the band “STEEL” as well as our very own members Ken Boyle and Mark Campbell who were great sports and modeled custom made and very decorated bras made by our Auxiliary ladies. It was a fun filled day. Your dues need to be paid to Kathy our Treasurer long before December 1, 2016. Remember, if your dues are not paid before December 31st, you will not be able to attend meetings or be served at the bar. So please don't let this happen. It’s $35 for your annual dues which includes the $5 cancer benefit. Also, if you are a Lifetime Members already, please pay your $5 cancer benefit premium. Remember, the lifetime dues are going up in January 2017 by 15%, so save yourself a few dollars and upgrade now. You can pay by credit card when paying your lifetime dues. Remember to always use kind words. If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all. These are words said to me by someone very special years ago (my mom) and I have tried to abide by them. If you need me for anything at all, please let me know. I am here for each of you, just a phone call away. Respectfully submitted, Jani Ramsey Lifetime Member Proudly Serving as your Post 2093 Auxiliary President

Message from Your Auxiliary Treasurer Just a reminder that your yearly dues are payable now. Please either drop them off at the Post or send to me in the self-addressed envelope I sent to you. Also, all Lifetime Members, please remember to submit your $5 for yearly cancer benefit. Put on envelope with your name and leave at the Post for me. Thank you all very much for your cooperation. Loyally Yours, Kathy Swoger Treasurer 3
