IMEDEEN
Fueling my Addiction Last October I shared the beginnings of my daily ritual with Imedeen Time Perfection skin supplements with you. Six months on I can tell you — hand on heart — I’m seriously addicted.
Scan 16 September, 2014 above lower arm
As a long-time beauty editor and former facialist, I use top-of-the-range skincare and schedule regular treatments. However, knowing the physiology of skin, I also firmly believe that what goes into one’s body plays a big part in skin condition too. Just like our other organs, the skin cells lap up nutrients.

“Beautiful skin begins within.”
like weight loss — the initial boost settles down to slower gains. I can’t wait to see where we’re at in a year!
The point of this story is that I’m of a more ‘mature age’ now and people frequently comment on my skin. Trust me, I can see all of its flaws, but my professional eye can also see it is hydrated and well fed. I put this down to excellent skincare and treatments, religious application of sunscreen, avoidance of UV light, drinking oodles of fresh water (though I confess to drinking dehydrating wine), and Imedeen.
Each Imedeen formulation contains different strengths of antioxidant nutrients corresponding to age related requirements:
Imedeen contains nutrients like amino acids, proteins, peptides and moisture binding polysaccharides, similar to those found naturally in the skin. It nourishes the dermis, helps the formation of collagen and reduces oxidative (environmental) damage.

Skin density decreases with age, stress, pollution and UV damage. A dab of gel goes onto the top your arm (which suffers as much UV damage as the face) and a probe is run over it. The scan reveals hidden damage in the dermis that isn’t yet visible, tracks progress and compares your measurement against same-aged women. An increased measurement shows improved levels of collagen, elastin and moisture in the dermis. My initial scans showed an increase and more even distribution of coloured dots, which represent collagen and elastin, and the thicker black line indicated a better quality epidermis. My skin density increased from 60 to 75 (80 is the top result you can get). What you will see in my most recent scan is the change of seasons, because it was done on a hot day when perspiration levels were high, it’s lighter but there’s still increased density — particularly further down the layers. The measurement is 76. It’s a bit
