2015 Annual Performance Report

W

orldwide, Venezuela is perceived as one of the largest oil nations of the world. Its domestic producing activities are in essence supported by the oil industry. In this regard, and continuing on as per the guidelines followed in previous studies, the 2016 Top 100 Companies project reserves this space to State-owned oil company Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A (PDVSA). Based on the 2014 annual performance report published in PDVSA´s web portal, for the third consecutive year it was rated the fifth most important company in the planet, as per publications specializing in the subject matter. The average production this year reached 2.8 million barrels per day, while total exports reached 2.4 million barrels per day. The average price of the Venezuelan basket was about US$ 44.65 per barrel, representing a 50.5% drop compared to the average price in 2014, which was US$ 88.4 per barrel. The total revenues obtained were US$ 72,169 million, US$ 55,300 million of which corresponded to exports and net sales abroad. Its assets totaled US$ 202 billion and its patrimony is US$ 91 billion. The integral gains recorded for this exercise was US$ 2,600 million dollars.

Next are the principal goals for PDVSA in coming years. • To increase crude oil production levels to 6,000 MBD by 2019, 4,000 MBD of which shall come from the FPO Hugo Chávez. • To elevate the production of natural gas to 10,494 MMPCD by 2019. • To elevate the domestic refining capacity to 1,800 MBD by 2019. • To increase the domestic natural gas liquid extraction capacity by 130 MBD. • To expand the market diversification strategy with a crude oil export goal of 1,335 MBD by 2019 for the area of Latin America and the Caribbean and 3,162 MBD towards Asia, especially China, India and Japan. • To amplify the coverage of the methane gas distribution network to reduce LGP consumption, offer a better quality of life and diminish environmental contamination by laying 8,625 km of pipelines and 16,818 km of internal lines that would benefit 728,900 families. • To construct three thermoelectric plants with a total generation capacity of 2,100 MW. • To develop Venezuela´s offshore gas belt and reach a production capacity of 2,030 MMPCD by 2019.

Total production in 2015 was 1,001 million barrels of crude oil (2,742 thousand barrels per day) or 37 thousand barrels per day (MBD) less compared to 2014 (2,779 MBD). The total production of natural gas liquids was 117 MBD, 3 MBD more than reported in 2014 (114).
