DAVID LILLY - 40 YEARS SHOP MECHANIC VECELLIO & GROGAN

In 1982, David Lilly was hired by Vecellio & Grogan as a Shop Laborer. With an eagerness to learn and grow professionally, he continuously increased his skillset and, in 1985, earned a promotion to Mechanic’s helper.

David’s solid work ethic helped him to progress in mastering his trade, and leadership took notice.

In 1988, he was promoted to Auto/Truck Mechanic servicing the maintenance and repair needs of V&G’s fleet of light-duty vehicles.

David dedication to serving the customer, along with clear focus on quality, has made him a valuable asset to the company throughout his 40-years of service.

PAULA BURGESS - 30 YEARS VP - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY VECELLIO MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Paula Burgess was hired by Vecellio & Grogan in 1992 as a Senior Programmer/Analyst working in the Beckley, WV office. She continued in this capacity until 1996 when she was promoted to Director of Management Information Systems (MIS).

Paula transferred to West Palm Beach in 2004 to manage MIS for all Vecellio Group companies. Her success in this role led her to being promoted to Vice President – Information Technology in 2007.

She has been instrumental in making sure the Group’s information systems use the most up-to-date technology and optimize efficiency and productivity for all users. Paula played key roles in upgrading the Company’s accounting and payroll systems, implementing project and job costing systems, and meeting cost and implementation deadlines when Ranger Construction and Vecellio Management Services moved to the new office on N. Congress Avenue in 2022.

Paula’s efforts have helped all employees communicate more effectively and efficiently, while managing their day-to-day business with maximum productivity.

JIMMY JONES - 30 YEARS PAINTER/MECHANIC VECELLIO & GROGAN

Jimmy Jones began his employment with Vecellio & Grogan in 1992. At that time, he was hired as a Painter in the Beckley shop, which later became known as Beckley Equipment Repair.

Jimmy is highly skilled in painting all types of equipment, from Cat 992 Loaders and Cat 777 Rock Trucks, down to small skid steers and pickups. He has a CDL license as well, that he uses to deliver parts and small equipment to job sites.

Jimmy also has a Surface Mine Card which allows him to work on mining job sites as a Mechanic’s Helper when additional assistance is needed outside the Shop.

Jimmy has always been flexible in his duties and always takes pride in his work, no matter the role. He is a tremendous asset to V&G’s business.

GLENN PRATT - 30 YEARS OPERATIONS MANAGER VECELLIO & GROGAN

Glenn Pratt began his career with Vecellio & Grogan in 1989 working as a Dozer Operator on a project in Cumberland Maryland as a member of the United Steelworkers of

America. Glenn learned skills from many of the “old school” operators, but among his favorites was his dad, George Pratt. Glenn worked alongside his father for many years traveling to different projects from Maryland to West Virginia.

Glenn was later promoted to Grading Operations Manager in 2017 where he oversaw multiple grading projects. Soon after, he moved to the Beckley office to focus on the overall grading operations for all of V&G.

In 2019, Glenn was tasked to oversee the largest single contract in V&G’s 84-year history in Rockingham, North Carolina. The project includes nearly 7.3 million cubic yards of excavation, and is very demanding, requiring Glenn to spend most of his time on site.

Glenn has always operated with integrity and honesty. He is a great example of loyalty and hard work, and has been a key contributor to V&G’s success over the years.

DALTON RACHAL - 30 YEARS ASPHALT SUPERINTENDENT RANGER CONSTRUCTION

Dalton Rachal was originally hired by PAVEX Corporation, which later merged into Ranger Construction, as an Asphalt Roller Operator.

Dalton’s ability to learn on the job earned him a promotion to Foreman in the late 1990s. Later, after sharpening his multitasking and problem-solving skills, Dalton advanced to Asphalt Superintendent. He understands every aspect of asphalt pavement construction. This knowledge, combined with his ability to remain calm in an ever-changing work environment, has made Dalton a key player on Ranger’s asphalt management team for 30 years.
