More Than A PARKING SPACE

Ms. Doreen Evans 2022/2023 Teacher of the Year is more than a parking space. Her tireless efforts in ensuring teachers feel appreciated and have the resources they need does not go unnoticed. She is often found visiting teachers in their classroom spreading a little sunshine each day. She states, “A happy teacher leads to happy students”.

She believes learning is key to staying relevant in the classroom in order to help students improve learning.

A teacher of the year is more than someone who is just effective in the classroom. It extends beyond the classroom. Use to build school culture, a servant leader. Involve with things inside and outside the building. What are you doing in the community and done to change culture and learning in the building. How have you effected change in your building. Make connections across content areas. More than a title, a role model always to support others. Helping others, lead them and to see thire potential. People can see her beyond her classroom.

School’s biggest cheerleader. Works beyond the classroom. Great colleague! It takes time to care. Love working with the community. Love teaching students.
