Research Funding The Research Enterprise for the College of Nursing (RECON) serves as the administrative center for research in the college and is led by the senior associate dean of research. RECON facilitates the growth of research initiatives and provides administrative support, consultation and expertise in research design and measurement, data and project implementation and management, statistical analyses, and pre- to postaward proposal services. RECON houses the associate director of research administration, two doctorally prepared statisticians, four post award and pre-award staff, and an IRB coordinator. The primary research goal of the college is to develop future nurse scientists and facilitate the scientific work of current faculty. The college ranked 34th among nursing schools nationwide in funding from the National Institutes of Health for 2020 with additional funding from foundations and nursing organizations. This fiscal year the college had a total of 23 active projects with a total funding amount of $2,249,481 from all sources. Our faculty and students received funding from foundations and scholarships in the amount of $173,316 for more than nine projects for fiscal year 2021. The college also received federal funding in the amount of $1,983,307 from nine projects, including the five active R01 projects in fiscal year 2021 as follows:
