Coping with Isolation at USC

Quarantine doesn’t have to be boring. Here are some ways to help you feel connected throughout your isolation.

We suggest starting with an at-home/hotel routine that includes:

° A consistent time that you wake up and go to sleep

° Class schedule

° Student groups and virtual meetings

° Homework and study time

° Self-care activities sprinkled throughout the day (listed below)

What are some quarantine activities?

1. Pamper yourself. Continue to stay clean, enjoy a bath or longer shower.

2. Embrace hobbies or create new ones –e.g. online gaming, start a photo project, crochet

3. Try a new podcast. Search a topic that interest you and see what comes up.

4. Stay active. Consider low intensity at-home workouts.

Don’t forget to prioritize social interactions and relationships with:

° Making a list of 10 friends/family and call one person each day.

° Using social media to stay connected.

° Having a virtual dinner or movie night.
