T have to admit it. We did have a party which is known as the annual business meeting of the .1 .A.G.C. This year's meeting, held at the Sundowner motel in Albuquerque, was probably one of the most organized and significant meetings of the NAGC. The work of the officers was much in evidence as re'port after report was read telling of the many meetings that were attended over the past year. Ralph Piper, gymnastics coach University of Minnes<Yta, received the annual NAGC award. This award is presented to the coach who has made an outstanding contribution to gymnastics over a period of twenty-five years or more. Ralph, while coaching at Minnesota, has had many fine teams and many top individual performers and has done much to build high school gymnastics in Minnesota. He has served on NCAA rules committees, has been an officer in the NAGC and has been instrumental in developing gymnastics to its present level in the U.S. Mr. Piper, speaking for Dr. Hartley Price, announced that the research awards were presented to Pat Bird, acting coach at the University of Illinois, and to Bob Schwarzkopf, assistant coach at the University of Washington. Both of these men are completinl!; work on masters degrees. Gene IFettstone presented the N .A.G.C. "Coach 0/ the Year" award by Chet Phillips; N.A .G.C. Honorary President.
Because of the length of our meeting, a second session was held at the University of New Mexico on Saturday morning. In this second session the new officers were elected. They are as follows: PRESIDENT: Gene Wettstone, Penn State University VICE PRES. EAST: Frank Wolcott, Springfield College VICE PRES. MIDWEST: Robert Kriedler, U. of Chicago VICE PRES. WEST: Ralph Borrelli, UCLA SECT. TREAS.: Sam Bailie, University of Ariwna
