Students Of The Month
Mr. Cotton received two gold tie nominations during the month of December on the same day! He received his gold ties in English Survey and Pride. For English Survey, his nominator wrote “Mr. Cotton is an excellent student who is well deserving of a gold tie. He is an excellent student who never fails to impress me with his writing. Mr. Cotton is a skilled writer with a vivid imagination that I am honored to teach and see what his imagination can illustrate and express. This young man is an excellent student who his peers can look up to and someone who models what an Urban Prep young man should look like.” For Mr. Cotton’s gold tie in Pride, his nominator wrote “ This young man is an awesome candidate for a gold tie. He models the creed exceptionally well. He shows fine examples of integrity and accountability inside and outside my classroom. He does all of his work in my class and is always providing his assistance when he can.

Mr. O’Bryant received his gold tie in Chemistry during the month of November. His nominator wrote, “This young man is dedicated, committed, and focused each day he is in attendance and holds himself to a high level of academic accountability by working to earn and maintain high accuracy grades on activities. He also works hard to contribute to the school community by promoting healthy school culture and facilitating meetings with school clubs and their sponsors. He is seen behind the scenes doing the work that helps create bonds with student-led activities and events. What makes this young man exceptional is when he goes the extra mile to ensure that he demonstrates his understanding of line 13 of the Creed: We have a responsibility to our family, community, and world.”

Mr. Ottley received his gold tie in Spanish during the month of November. His nominator wrote, “This student has shown dedication, commitment, and focus throughout the entire school year so far. He participates regularly and retains the material I teach; he's always well-behaved and a friend to those around him; and I look forward to seeing him continue to progress in Spanish class.
