What’s UP in the world? Why Does Saving Our School Matter?
and if we feel like we are not being put in the best place to succeed, we have to change our behavior and approach. The staff at Urban Prep are tremendous. They will teach you a lot but they are not just in it for the money because they don't get a lot but they do it because they care for each and every one of their students. Every day when I walk into the class, I am greeted with a Hello, Good Morning and asked how I am feeling. They care about my physical health just as much as they care about my mental health.
Urban Prep has put me into contact with. Urban Prep has done a lot for me and my classmates and I have no doubt it can do even more for kids if it is allowed the ability to stay open. Urban Prep has proven that it has what it takes. I not only believe Urban Prep can do it, I know it can do it. But just like we say everyday in our creed, We Believe; And we won’t stop!

Hello Everyone, my name is Mr. Smith, Pride of Accountability, Class of 2024, I attend the Urban Prep Englewood Campus. In addition to my experience at Englewood, I have been fortunate to visit the Downtown and Bronzeville Campuses. Everytime I go, they make me feel like family; this is the reason I believe Urban Prep is an amazing high school.

Since being a student, I’ve had the chance to meet really eye opening people, coaches, and friends who have changed the way I see things. Urban Prep has helped me make great connections and has helped to put me in touch with great organizations like the Obama Youth Jobs Corps and Safe Streets Chicago. Through Safe Streets Chicago, I have been able to be a part of a team of student leaders to actively pursue and find ways to keep kids out of violence.
Every year I spend at Urban Prep, I learn something new whether that is how to complete a square using integers or solving problems, how we can help clean up our neighborhoods, or the best way to play against a team who plays in a power I offense. Urban Prep is just like any other high school, maybe even better because they don't just get us ready for college but they help to prepare us for life. They teach us times management skills, problem solving skills, and most importantly communication skills, which will all help us to become functioning members of society. At Urban Prep we have a voice. We are reminded daily by our principals and teachers that whatever we want done is up to us. We have to advocate for ourselves
At Urban Prep, I get to see a lot of intelligent Black role models. It's really good to see them because we don’t often see Black people portrayed in this light in the media. They are often portrayed in a negative way so it is good to see them in my school every day. Being a student athlete at Urban Prep, I have been through a lot of different coaches and everyone has helped motivate me and spur my love for football. They have taught me a lot of different things like why I have to have good grades to play on the next level. Urban Prep has made me who I am and helped to lead me in a good direction.
I am thankful to Urban Prep and everyone that
